勇者大暴走 is a pretty unusual free to play RPG because it takes a cultivation fantasy world and mixes it with card based progression and a lot of idle mechanics. I liked the setting almost immediately because the game throws me into a broken prehistoric fantasy world where immortals, demons, mythical creatures and magical treasures all exist together. It has that exaggerated Chinese fantasy style where almost every character feels larger than life. The main gameplay revolves around building up my character and a team of companions while moving through battles and stages automatically. I can improve equipment, recruit powerful partners and mythical beasts, unlock abilities and keep pushing forward as my overall power increases. I enjoyed how easy it is to make progress because the idle system keeps things moving even when I am not actively controlling every battle. The card and collection elements give the progression a little more depth. Recruiting new companions and spirit beasts gives me something to work toward, while improving their equipment and abilities makes the constant power increases feel more meaningful.
