About Cell Command

A turn-based roguelite unlike anything you've played before

Dive into the microscopic world - cure the virus ravaging the planet. In Cell Command, units grow when they move, and attacks shrink them. A "tank" could be a long, winding python that clogs up the battlefield & encircles its prey!

Mix DNA nucleotides A C G T to discover unique, unicellular combatants

Command cells (get it?) to construct bridges for ranged units to strike from afar, or poke holes in the map to trap hostiles. Gain attack bonuses when your cells form specific shapes with their long bodies. Dominate with godlike build synergies. Make use of poison, radiation, thorns & more.

Loads of content at launch for a 100+ hour journey

  • 4 modes with 3 ascensions & varied mission types
  • Research permanent upgrades
  • Enhance cells with genetic modifications
  • Enemy mutations begging to be subverted & outplayed
  • 80+ music tracks (with in-game "Jukebox!")
  • 300+ ways to blame your reading comprehension, lack of foresight & poor decision-making on anything but yourself

Unlock commanders like Berg, whose cells slide & slam into hostiles like they're on ice

  • Save & resume runs at any time
  • 100+ Steam achievements that grant in-game bonuses
  • Cloud save
  • Controller & Steam Deck support
  • Colourblind accessibility options

Skill issue: the game. A fantastic turn-based strategy game where more often than not your worst own enemy is your inability to figure out a combo that will let you make the most of your commander's skills and abilities. Loads of combinations and builds to keep you entertained with. Amazing game overall!

I really find myself enjoying this game a great deal, it's kind of a puzzly tactics game with minimalistic graphics but tons of depth and seemingly endless cool unlockable ways of enhancing your runs and customizing your team's abilities. If you find unlock-a-thon roguelites to be your thing, then absolutely you should give this one a try.

Cell Command is a distinctive strategy roguelite developed and published by Alpherior that takes place on a microscopic battlefield where living cells wage war against dangerous viral threats. While many tactical games rely on familiar movement and combat systems, this title builds its identity around a highly original mechanic inspired by classic snake-style gameplay. Every movement causes a unit to grow longer, while attacks shorten its body. This simple rule fundamentally changes how players approach positioning, combat, and resource management, creating a strategic experience that feels fresh and inventive from the very beginning. The game's most compelling feature is its DNA-based customization system. Players combine different genetic components to create specialized cells with unique abilities and combat roles. Rather than locking players into a predefined roster, Cell Command encourages experimentation by allowing countless combinations and synergies. Some cellular units can construct pathways or bridges, others specialize in ranged attacks, while some focus on manipulating terrain or inflicting harmful status effects. This flexibility makes every run feel different and re…
