20,000 keystrokes. No egg or hat. Bruh. Bro. Breh. Not the fastest uninstall, but top 10, easy. I can find a gif of a pixelated chicken and put it in the lower corner of my PC if that was all I wanted to get out of it, ffs.2 found this helpful
Simple. Disappointing. Empty. Chicken Fren has a decent concept, and visually it looks good. I also like that it tracks both your mouse clicks and keyboard strokes, and you can show or hide the counter whenever you want. The default chicken size looks way too big and awkward, but the smallest size fits much better on the screen. The biggest problem is that the app doesn't seem to remember anything between sessions. Every time I restart my PC, the counter resets and the chicken goes back to its default size, so I have to adjust it again. It feels like it only keeps track of the current session instead of saving your progress and preferences. Even worse, I couldn't find anything to spend the points on. The store says the chicken lays eggs, but after 13.5 hours of use, mine still haven't seen a single egg, so my inventory is still empty. Apart from walking around inside its enclosure, the chicken doesn't really do much. It feels very limited and lacks the interactions or features needed to keep it interesting. If you just want a chicken sitting on your desktop, it'll do that. If you're looking for an engaging desktop pet, I can't recommend it.1 found this helpful
Chicken Fren keeps me company all day long :)1 found this helpful
While I love the concept and hopped on it right away, this is sadly extremely forgettable as there is little to do to engage with the chicken. You can't pet it, can't do anything. The dev also hasn't added hats since Valentine's Day (Feb 2026) so it feels very abandoned. I wanted to love this but sadly, I feel nothing. I'm kind of just leaving it open to farm the very last achievement and be done with it. :,3 Also, hats very rarely drop at all, and there aren't a whole lot of them that I'd actually WANT to put on the chicken. The "game" needs more interaction from the dev to make it better, but I don't know if that's happening anymore and I've lost most interest I've had in it. Sorry dev!1 found this helpful
For what it is, it's cute. Little Chicken Fren wandering his pen with a cute hat. It's a fun concept.1 found this helpful
