While the negative reviews so far aren't wrong, I'm still enjoying this game. It feels very experimental, and I love the overall weirdness of it. In its current state, I'd say it's probably not worth the full price unless some of the bugs get fixed, but this is a very unique game with interesting environments that are fun to explore.8 found this helpful
- This is an EARLY ACCESS title, as such expect it to be "rough around the edges" - This game is a rogue-lite 3d exploration platformer. It vibes hard. The visuals and music are charming and unique. It rewards exploration, and drip-feeds upgrades. It doesn't do a lot to explain it's own mechanics, and I'm not totally sure if that's by design, or due to it not being finished yet. Either way, there's a bit of learning-as-you-go which I enjoy to a degree. I'd say it could use a slight nudge in the direction of explaining things a bit more, but given how weird the world of this game is, the feeling is kind of fitting. I think the fighting mechanics could be tightened up a bit, as a lot of the time I wasn't sure how or why I killed things that I killed. Exploration and traversal is front-and-center though, and are already fun. Being early access, there is certainly some jank, especially with respect to UI and using a controller. There were some times where a UI wouldn't register input from the controller and I had to reach for the mouse. Overall not too bad as long as a mouse is at least nearby.3 found this helpful
Great game with a lot of energy behind it! The environment is gorgeous as well as the characters. The game is a great representation of good ol Philly passion. For $5 on summer sale? It's a no brainier.1 found this helpful
incredibly compelling setting with striking, unique art direction, but the gameplay leaves something to be desired. movement feels good but shooting doesnt have much feedback so it feels unsatisfying, and exploration is fun but it kinda feels like the only incentive is finding more bullets. has a lot of potential though, i hope the dev keeps up with it.
This game is really cool! The atmosphere is so vibey and the aesthetic of the world is gorgeous. You can tell how much love has gone into the art and design. The story elements are original too, and got me into things right from the start, as I'm a big fan of 90s RPGs. It did take me a second to get used to the controls, but honestly I had a hard time with some characters in Smash Bros, too, so go figure. The soundtrack is also really lovely, which is an important factor for me. All in all I've found this game to be totally unique and really fun to play. Instant classic!
Love the music, the story, the characters, and the overall aesthetic. Major unique vibes that make me feel like I could just hang out and chill with the strange inhabitants of the hub. Like 3:30am vibes. This game has a ton of charm. I actually didn't expect too much from it since it's early access, and a lot of the media for it showing the platforming side of things. It definitely does have a ton of platforming goodness, but also a lot of customization (even with suits and accessory parts etc), and rogue-lite features like upgrading your weapons (including some unique stuff like the grow gun that spits out giant plants you can use to help in platforming, or blowing up enemies), buying and upgrading abilities, a whole ship exploration mechanic with different planets to visit, different maps to buy from the merchant, cool physics stuff with funky enemies that make use of it, and more that I didn't even realize would be part of the game just from looking at the store media. So that was a great welcomed surprise for me. Also as someone who is so TIRED of modern games slamming me with six thousand character essays about their story, or barely explaining their own mechanics etc, I was…
