What Steam players say

Players appreciate the game's dark sci-fi aesthetic and consider the basic gameplay concept passable, but the game suffers from significant technical and design issues that hamper enjoyment. Common complaints include a broken auto-save system that can trap players in unwinnable loops with low health, lack of tutorial guidance, the need to collect all items to progress normally, frequent crashes, and poor controls, with some players unable to launch the game at all. The general consensus is that while the game shows potential, its current execution falls short of being worth the purchase price.
I think it is a very good game, but there is no Tutorial. You have to get all Items to play this game normal, if you forget one, you lose. I bought this game for 2.04€ but its not worth the full price.2 found this helpful
I bought this game to get into it and try it out - it looked interesting and I couldn't wait to play it, as I love indie games and dark, sci-fi shooters. However, when trying to launch the game, all I saw was a white screen. I tried backing up the files, running it in compatibility mode - there was nothing I could do to get the game to actually show up. All my other Steam games work fine, for perspective. If this is fixed in a future patch (if it is indeed a game issue,) then I will gladly update my review once I've had the chance to play it. Until then, I do not recommend purchasing this game.2 found this helpful
The basic gameplay of Murk is okay (although but nothing special), but I can't recommend it. Murk is a side-scroller where you have to find power ups to regain health and ammo. It also has an automatic save point system. However, when you are low on health at the moment a save point is activated, and you die a few seconds later in the level from a single hit, you respawn at the last save point but still with your low health, causing you to die over and over again at the same point in the level, basically blocking you from progressing in the game. I played at normal (i.e. the lowest) difficulty.2 found this helpful
beautiful
Murk is a very bad game. I got this game for free and I don’t recommend buying it because it is poorly made and often crashes, even though I have a good PC. The controls are also poorly designed, and the auto-save system is terrible — when you die, you respawn in the same spot with low health, and the game progress doesn’t move forward
