I played the butler first and loved that game! Claire was incredible and I can't wait to play it again to get a different ending!
Avoid this game if you are playing on an AMD GPU—the performance is horrible. On top of the awful optimization, the game completely fails to recognize both my Xbox and DualSense controllers, despite explicitly claiming to have full controller support. EDIT: To clarify, the controller issue is definitely not a driver error on my end; both controllers work perfectly fine in every other game I play. Also, I initially thought the game forced a VHS visual filter with no option to disable it. However, since the developer confirmed there is no actual VHS filter, it seems to be a bug where a DLSS setting is incorrectly trying to run on AMD hardware. This results in heavy grain artifacts that look exactly like DLSS or FSR running at a very low resolution.
I am MAD. I enjoyed Ethel and I was really enjoying Claire as well, the jump scares are on point and got me good. Unfortunately, there's some game-breaking bug where the statues fall right through the fireplace mantle and cannot be picked up so I hit R to reset to their original locations. Ruined the video playthrough I was recording, ran up my run time and I can't even proceed to finish the game. Tried over and over and they just fall. Right. Through. Let me know when you fix this. I guess I'll watch someone else playthrough it for the storyline as I fully intend to play The Butler. I bought that first without knowing it was a whole series so..yeah. Great game, except the bug.
