About Clans to Kingdoms
Clans to Kingdoms is a 4X Turn-Base Strategy City Building Game for Windows PC. You start as a small Clan with one single settlement and the aim is to manage and develop your civilization up to a Kingdom with several cities and armies.
The Full Version has 6 settlement levels, 3 outpost levels, 120 researches, 150 distinct buildings and 21 distinct military units with an original soundtrack of 12 music tracks by Abdenara. Both single and LAN/internet multiplayer games can be played with up to 20 civilizations and map sizes ranging from 100x100 to 500x500 tiles. Includes 6 in-game tutorials. Multiplayer allows both co-op and competitive games and are compatible with non-Steam game distributions, can be listed in the game server or directly connect to known game hosts (LAN or Internet).
The Demo Version is singleplayer only, allowing to play up to the first settlement level advancement (185 turns) with a soundtrack of 2 music tracks by Abdenara. Can be played with up to 11 civilizations and map sizes of 100x100 to 120x120 tiles. Includes 4 in-game tutorials. Saved games are compatible with the Full Version.
Game Modifications:
The Full Version allows for the player to define custom playlists (edit the file 'Documents\My Games\ClansToKingdoms\playlists.txt' and enable it in the Sound Settings) and text/language modifications. The text/language mod instructions and templates (zip file, includes additional fonts: Czech, Cyrillic, Japanese and Devanagari+Bengali) are in the folder '(game install Folder)\Mods' and 'Workshop' mods are available in-game (read 'Workshop Guide' guide for further details).
Release Notes:
Since release that this game is licensed 'As Is', meaning that the developers do not promise to further develop it, if you do not agree with this do not buy it. Also there is a free Demo so that you can try the game before buying it (button on the right pane). However in case you find any bug or have any improvement suggestion be free to contact the developers, as long as it is a reasonable suggestion they will consider it (has have so far).
Support for this game is available only in English.
Install Notes:
1 - The 'first time play' (to setup the game) and the game installation must be done on a Windows account with 'Administrator' privileges (in case you are not 'Administrator' please ask your Administrator/Parents to install the game).
2 - All hardware including controllers and network/internet must be plugin and initialized before starting the game.
3 - Antivirus: when first running the game your antivirus may interrupt the execution of the executable for analysis and then restart it. This generates an error as the game must be started from Steam, please hit the button of the pop-up to restart the game or whenever required start the game again from Steam. In more rare occasions some antivirus add clean executable to the virus chest when installing and/or running (you get a message from Steam that the executable is locked), in this case it is required to manually remove the game executable from the virus chest and in more rare cases to add it to the antivirus white list, guess this is one of the cases the antivirus become a virus :|
(also when loading games or reading the game data files some antivirus may analyze the saved games and data files causing a reading error and causing either a game error or halting the game execution, the solution is to let the antivirus analyze the files and restart the game)

Its a pretty boring game so far, just get any of the civ games this is just a basic version of that series without any animations. But if you still get the game then this is what you can expect, limited space to build on as you territory grows with your population and tech level, limited expansions that are counted as outposts and not villages locked to your tech level. You are constantly harrased by a bandit clan and if you dont know how to play you will fall behind in size and forced to restart until you figure out how to best grow while managing your resources. There is supposed to be other ai in this game but i have yet to encounter any over 200 turns on the bigest map size. So far this feels like a unfinished game.7 found this helpful
So, this game kinda wrecked some important settings on my laptop and I STILL don't know what all happened! I did not see the warning review until it was too late and happened to me. But basically the game was taking forever to load a tutorial, then it completely froze, and then a black screen that forced me to hold the power button of my laptop to reset it! And this NEVER happens to me, it's a pretty much brand new gaming laptop that has been great for every other game other than this one! Afterwards, I saw that somehow my refresh rate was turned down to 30! I switched it back to 240 where it should be. I also notice my mouse is 'choppy' now! And I have NO IDEA what exactly this game wrecked in terms of settings that would make my mouse choppy! If anyone has any tips on this please respond to this review! I still can't figure it out and I tried all the basic and advanced mouse settings. I have a Logitech MX Master 4, brand new mouse plus a 4090 Nvidia GPU. Any tips greatly appreciated! And stay the heck away from this "game" !! Edit - Not only that, now my laptop is SLOW and CHOPPY!! It was running beautifully before I tried this "game"! Requested a refund (Edit: Steam denied a refund, claiming game has "no evidence that the product has a major defect as defined under law", despite my experience below} CtK is buggy and may trash your display setup, especially it seems if you have integrated Intel chips and/or I guess dual GPUs. I never got to play a single second of the game, but i hope what I say here helps someone else who may encounter the same issues I had. I have spent hours trying to repair the damage this game did to my PC display setup. I had the game auto-setup the graphics, and then went into the game, but the mouse cursor was moving like it was in treacle. So I got out to check internet/forums for a solution - only to find my screen was still the right resolution but shrunk into the center of my monitor, so small it was hard to read. I could write a lot on all the testing and checking, nVidia adjustments, full restarts, only for nothing to change. I think all up I wasted 3 hours, And it was only that short due to a bit of luck. I saw an article mention unrelated but similar screen issue with Intel integrated chipsets, I have an nVidia GPU and checked to my config to realise i had the Intel integra…3 found this helpful

Feed back for the developers: 1. Mouse acceleration only goes to 1 but needs to go much higher. Right now mouse movement is so slow, the game is unplayable. 2. I run my games at 3840x2160 resolution and this game readjusted my video settings to a lower setting in a strange way and then it didn't go back to 3840x2160 when I left the game. This required me to go into my GForce tools and fix it. Until these two things get fixed, I won't be playing the game.
The proposition of this game sounded excellent, I really wanted to try it. I thought might really enjoy it even if it was very simple and early access... But I had severe graphical issues from the get go, the mouse control is completely broken, and there is no setting to speed up the scout moviment... To add insult to injury, this game is considered to be released despite having way worse interface than most early access alphas I bought. Sorry, but I'm returning this as soon as I can. Hope by the time this is in version 2.0 it may be close to "release worthy".
