About Confessional: Reality TV Manager

You're the showrunner. Make great TV.

Confessional puts you behind the camera of a cutthroat reality TV competition. Cast your contestants, balance your tribes, design your season schedule, and then watch the drama unfold — or step in and tip the scales. It's your show, your reputation, and your legacy.

Scout and Cast

Every season starts with casting. Contestant stats and abilities are masked behind first impressions, audition tapes, and gut feelings. You're making million-dollar bets on people you barely know. That soft-spoken teacher might be a strategic genius. That former athlete might buckle the second the game gets real. Invest more in your casting budget and team to get better reads, or roll the dice and let the chaos sort itself out. As the season progresses, hidden attributes reveal themselves — and you'll find out whether your instincts were right.

Produce the Season

Plan each day on a drag-and-drop calendar. Schedule reward challenges, immunity challenges, tribe swaps, and merges. Choose from unique challenges across physical, puzzle, and endurance categories, then watch them play out. See the lead changes, the chokes, the comebacks, and the blowouts. Manage your budget across casting, operations, and challenge design. Every decision shapes what kind of show you're making — a gritty survival epic, a social chess match, or a trainwreck.

Manage Your Cast

Contestants aren't robots. They have a deep mood system tracking happiness, stress, fatigue, hunger, and mental state — and it all shifts day to day based on what happens to them. A blindside tanks trust across the tribe. A reward win lifts spirits. Going too many days without food makes everyone irritable and unpredictable. Some contestants come in with baggage — personal issues, short tempers, substance problems, volatile personalities. Troubled contestants are a double-edged sword: they create unforgettable television, but they can also spiral in ways you can't control. Breakdowns happen. Fights escalate. And sometimes, the game takes a physical toll — injuries, dehydration, and medical conditions can force evacuations that blow up your carefully planned season.

Deep Interconnected Alliances

Alliances form in whispered conversations and fracture in public blowups. Relationships evolve across five dimensions (trust, affinity, resentment, fear, and familiarity) creating a web of social dynamics that shifts every single day. Hidden immunity idols get found, hoarded, played, and wasted. Tribal councils play out with dramatic vote reveals, blindsides, split votes, idol plays, rock draw tie-breakers, and fire-making duels. Every vote is a story.

Chase the Ratings

Your entertainment rating is everything. It's calculated from drama, suspense, strategic gameplay, and character moments — and it directly drives your revenue. A boring, predictable season with a safe boot order loses money and viewers. A season full of blindsides, underdog runs, and iconic tribal councils becomes a cultural moment. But there's a line. Get caught being too heavy-handed — rigging outcomes, pushing vulnerable contestants, manufacturing drama that crosses ethical lines — and you'll face consequences. Network scrutiny, public backlash, and a reputation that follows you into future seasons.

Build a Legacy

This isn't a one-and-done experience. Confessional tracks every contestant across every season — their stats, relationships, rivalries, voting history, and reputation. Bring back returning contestants for all-star seasons, rivals seasons, or redemption arcs. Returning players come back with baggage: old grudges, existing relationships with other returnees, and a public profile that makes them bigger targets — and bigger TV draws.

Watch contestants evolve from unknown recruits into household names. Fan favorites draw massive audiences. Notorious villains generate hate-watch ratings. Legends become the face of your franchise. Some players get better with experience. Others flame out trying to recapture past glory. Their stories are your stories.

Create, Share, and Download Contestants

Build anyone. Confessional's contestant creator lets you recreate real reality TV players, celebrities, your friends, yourself — anyone you want to throw into the game. Dial in their stats, personality traits, playstyle, appearance, and backstory. Want to see how a famous strategist plays against a notorious hothead? Build them both and find out.

Share your creations with the community through Steam Workshop integration. Download contestant packs built by other players — full casts of iconic reality TV seasons, celebrity dream casts, themed rosters, or completely original characters. Drop them into your game and hit play. The community builds the cast. You produce the show.
