Dead Pedal

It's pretty terrible overall. Physics are ridiculous, controlling is bad, and it lacks any kind of story, even the training is lazy. Looks neat, the sound and music is better than mediocre, but it is not fun. I would have great time with it, in the early 2000's, but today it just not enough, not even for a freebie.

Drive without rhythm, or you'll get the worm.

Not recommended. This has a ton of potential to be a fun action packed adventure. Sadly, it also needs a lot more time in development. For starters, the graphics are okay, but fairly low grade. The handling of the vehicle can be dialed in a bit and the aiming has too much arch. I can get past all that but what holds this back are the various game breaking bugs. Missions and checkpoints constantly break making progression pretty much impossible and it's easy to go "out of bounds" which takes you to the main menu.

"Dead Pedal" is the kind of game that probably seemed like a good idea at the time, but in hindsight it's one of those cases where the developers should have considered that games don't exist in a vacuum. The idea is this is a third person console-esque vehicle shooter where you drive around a desert and shoot/run over stuff. The result of this idea turned out to be a really weak ripoff of Carmageddon. Yeah, I guess the devs didn't know this has already been done before, but way better. What do you do in the game? It really is just driving around and shooting... aspects that gamers might expect from a serious PC game like meaningful progression, plot, narrative, reasons to want to play etc are all absent here. You'd be better off picking up Carmageddon or GTA:V. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics.
