About Die In The Dark
Die in the Dark is a first-person exploration and adventure story-based game. It’s more of a thriller than a horror game, even though monsters will swarm you once your flashlight battery dies(Hence the name Die in the Dark).
Trapped in the subway with nothing but a flashlight, no guns or knives around. Not only will you face a ton of puzzles but you will encounter zombies, vicious dogs and a slew of other monsters. Burning zombies with your flashlight and hiding in closets might be the best way to survive but you can choose the way you escape the subway.
The game's story is centered around real-life events that occurred July 2008 in Long Island, New York when the "Montauk Monster" washed ashore. Beachgoers stood there scared and confused. The monster looked like a strange mix of pig and dog. Not far from the beach was Plum Island Animal Research Center which is known for its innovative animal experiments.
Two years later another monster washed up on shore but this time it was a human with elongated body parts. Reports suggested that Plum Island started experimenting on humans not just animals.
July 2018 the monsters of Plum Island escaped a secret lab in the NYC subway system.
One unlucky subway passenger is trapped on the subway...can you survive and escape?
Features:
8 levels to explore
6 different monster types
Burn zombies with flashlight attack

I want to thank the developer who reached out and offered me a free evaluation key for this game, his first title on Steam... ...But this just goes to show that offered a free key to "ME" doesn't buy you an easy positive review. Wanna see what this game offer for its current $19.99 USD price tag? Take a look BEFORE you buy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgX8HHFp6iY An image showing the 5.2 GB file size for this terrible game as well: https://imgur.com/DzTwfdo20 found this helpful
Die in the Dark is a badly made Unity first person horror adventure game where you run around train stations and old buildings avoiding monsters that suddenly appeared to give me a big headache. Most of the game assets are mismatched, it looks and feels a lot like someone just put a bunch of Unity Asset Store assets in a blender. The gameplay is clunky and unsatisfying. There's nothing wrong with the concept, but this just lacks the kind of professionalism and polish that a $5 USD price tag would justify. Edit: This is a definite Unity Asset flip. The developer stole a bunch of assets from the Unity Asset store and is trying to scam gamers... he wants YOUR money for someone else's Unity assets. This is a scam from a proven unethical developer, be warned. When you give your money to unethical developers and plagiarists, you put your money at risk.6 found this helpful
I was always taught not to review a game unless you actually beat it, after finishing this I can honestly say I enjoyed it. Not a steam gamer but thought I give this a shot since I follow the dev on Instagram and it looked pretty interesting. While the game is a lot slower than I originally thought but I didnt mind because the story & atmosphere pulled me in. Zombies felt way too easy but the other monsters provided plenty of jump scares. Really enjoyed the puzzles and the flashlight attack which reminded me of Alan Wake.5 found this helpful
spooky scary horror game, monsters were made in a science laboratory, one escaped and killed people so the government placed restrictions to stop it happening again, until now... https://youtu.be/kUJO9iZD6hQ4 found this helpful
IS THIS GAME FOR CONTROLLERS ONLY? I DON'T HAVE ONE AND CAN'T USE THE KEYBOARD FOR ALL FUNCTIONS.2 found this helpful
This is actually a good game :D for an indie game of course The ending is pretty funny You don't get guided too much but you know your objectives at least, and by just exploring around the map you complete the game with a bit if puzzling, even has a "boss fight" 90 minute game and I look happily back at my adventure Definitely get it if you're into these type games, it's cheap nowadays too!1 found this helpful
