Dead of Darkness

Worth the price. I have always wanted to play a survival horror pixel games (just missing and RPG survival horror now), and lives up to it. There are some recurring themes from big sagas, but somehow manages to have something original and engaging. Sequel? I believe this game have everything to set up a new series, all my best wishes to the devs if that is what they are aiming for. Downsides: I would say are that a lot of the lore stays as a mystery and that's good but i do feel like the first two location of the game barely provides information about what is going on, those locations are not bad at all, it is used to set up the atmosphere but again I felt like the plot moves slow in comparison for whats to come later on. A gameplay downside? Hmm not really i think i only hated when sometimes i would aim at one direction but due to a small movement of the joystick it would shoot at a different direction.

The art isn't very good, the voice actors aren't very good - the game isn't very good. The cistern, the "trapped in your mind" section, the overall plot and writing. Not great.

Another Resident Evil clone that thinks excessive backtracking and finding keys is what makes RE so good. All of the other negative reviews state a common problem, there's no pause in any of the menus' outside of the pause menu. This makes you take hits unnecessarily when you're trying to check your map, because each area has 10 different rooms per hallway, using a key to open a door, or even trying to reload your gun. Old Resident Evil games gave invincibility frames on picking up items, which is necessary to dodge / avoid hits. They also had a way into bait enemies to attacking you, if you were skilled enough, you could avoid the hit, and then run past them during their animation. This game has none of that, and the enemies gravitate towards your location as soon as you load into the next room. This is a very tedious game, and its so long too, I kept clicking my tongue and giving a frustrated sigh when I had to go into yet another giant mansion like area, full of annoying monsters, and rooms locked with different flavors of keys. The difficulty is all over the place on "moderate". You're either given far too much ammo, or not enough when the game spawns excessive amounts of enem…

GREAT SUPRISE ! i loved the game had a great time playing it ,and i liked checking the map where the place will stay red if you didn't gather all the stuff it gave me an ease of mind ^-^ , if you read my comment and you love survival horror play it now !
