About Don't Pray To Satan
YOU MUST SHOW THEM THE WAY
Don't Pray To Satan is an unforgiving city simulator/strategy game, where you must monitor and prevent your city's inhabitants from praying to Satan and bringing about the end of days.
- Feel vexation like never before as the city you just spent 4 hours keeping alive sacrifices themselves to unholy hellfire at their own hands.
- Monitor each of your citizens for signs of corruption, and try and mitigate the damage the corrupt can do.
- Call upon a variety of divine powers to stem the flow of Satanism.
- Recruit citizens to become your Vessel to aid you in your struggle.
- Prepare daily for the Black Mass - the Satanist's nightly ritual which accelerates them to their goal.
- A fully-fledged artificial life system: citizens have homes, jobs, hobbies, interests, a daily schedule that varies... and dark secrets they keep from their neighbors.
- Randomly generated cities: buildings, townsfolk, jobs, businesses, everything: no two cities or its populace will ever be alike.
- Full day-night cycle: you must carefully monitor your citizens habits during the day, and watch out for those who stay out at night.
What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players appreciate the game's humorous concept and promising core ideas, but express frustration with significant issues including stagnant development with no updates since launch, excruciatingly slow progression mechanics that create long idle periods with no fast-forward option, and an overall lack of polish that makes it feel unfinished for an early access title. Most reviewers suggest the game has potential but warn against purchasing until substantial development and quality-of-life improvements materialize.
As a Satanist, I find this "game" offensive42 found this helpful
A very promising game ruined by stagnating development; there's been no new updates since day one8 found this helpful
A neat and humorous little game/concept that would totally be worthwhile, but despite being EA there's no sign that it's actually being worked on. Wouldn't recommend it unless you're game for ~1 hour of playing and then probably dropping it.5 found this helpful
There's some interesting stuff here. I'd love to see more of it. But it's SO. DANG. SLOW. I spent minutes at a time waiting around for the 'zen' currency to build up enough to even do anything. There's an expensive item that increases zen production, but just the thought of waiting long enough to save up the cost made me bored. There's nothing to do but stalk your citizens looking for satanists while waiting, and that gets old pretty fast. I'm seriously stunned that there's no fast forward setting.2 found this helpful
8/10, wouldn´t pray to satan needs a save button tho1 found this helpful
Not worth it. If there are updates down the road I'm all for it. But it is still in super early testing now, barely a finished product. :(
