The commitment to making this game with all it's insanity is to be commended! It is a janky screen shaking un-optimised Unity Engine mess - but if you have a bleeding edge computer (in 2024) you may be able to get decent framerates - lol. I had i5 6 core with Nvidia 3050 Laptop GPU - and had to drop it to 1366x768 on lowest setting to hit 40-60 FPS with frequent drops below 30 fps. That said there is fun to be had here! The humour is there - and if you know Australiana and the story of the real Emu War you will get that much more out of this game (I've been here in Australia for over 30 years now) Devs: to make this game 2x more enjoyable: get rid of the constant screen shake / smooth player camera out a bit or add an option to turn screen shake off. OF NOTE: the vehicles are perfect - and yes, the point of the game is to have fun and explore / push the craziness of the game - love it. Despite it's shortcomings - this game is worth the price of admission (at $1.50 AUD) and made me laugh heaps = gets a thumbs up from me!2 found this helpful
Remember Goat Simulator when it first came out? Well take that but make it worse, add visual effects and a colour palette thats practically stroke inducing, and you've got Emu War! Absolute garbage. Avoid.1 found this helpful
Great educational game about an important event in history, recommend it 100%ly. I wish my history lessons in school had been that close to the real action.1 found this helpful
Review: EMU War! – Emu-singly Good?
🐦 ⚠️ Trigger Warning: If you're sensitive to flashing visual effects, proceed with caution. The game may not be suitable for players with epilepsy. As an EMU, I can confidently say: What an EMU-tional mess! There's running, pecking, and frantic flapping all over the place. The missions are wonderfully insane, chaotic, and sometimes so over the top that even my feathers stood on end. 🪶 Who would've guessed? As an EMU, I naturally played only the emu perspective—and I felt right at home in my feathers. The game delivers a few hours of emu-sing entertainment. If you're into absurd humor and pure chaos, you'll definitely have a good time. 🤪 The bird ..ehm. the game doesn't run entirely smoothly, though. There are a few bugs and minor issues here and there. But honestly, for the tiny price of just €1, it's easy to turn a blind... uh... an egg to them. 🥚 Final Verdict: Chaotic, crazy, and thoroughly EMU-sing. It's far from a perfect game, but for the price, there's more than enough fun to ruffle your feathers. This EMU says: Good! 🐦
game looks amazing, but idk if its just cause i am playing on the steam deck but the mouse sensitivity was through the roof, i couldn't move my camera without it going wild making the game unplayable for me, which is sad, as an Australian i wanted to play a game inspired by my countries history
Historically accurate.
