Erannorth Chronicles managed to put the art in the hands of AI, the gameplay in the 90s, and the complexity in the hands of an amateur. This game is the definition of "Deal 2 damage if it is raining on a Tuesday" Generic music, generic art, generic sound effects. Everything is a JPEG like an old neopets flash game. Every single mechanic in this game is thrown at you like drinking from a firehose. The UI is completely unacceptable, it took like a good minute to even find out how to turn the annoying music down. Every menu looks like it was designed by a blind person that has never played a video game before. I think this might actually be the worst game I have ever played on steam. Oh, and if you like the $20 base game full of AI art, generic audio, terrible UI, and incredibly poorly designed and unbalanced mechanics: Don't worry, you can buy the rest of the $100 worth of DLC filled with generic AI art, generic audio, terrible UI, and incredibly poorly designed and unbalanced mechanics. If by some god-send the developer reads this: HIRE AN ARTIST. HIRE A MUSCIAN. DON'T USE SYMBOLS WHEN YOU CAN USE WORDS. "& > 14 = Flames/Poison critical mending" is meaningless, your players should…

“Quantity over quality” and “not a game you can evaluate in 2 hours” and “definitely not worth the full price”. I can compare this to “Eador: genesis”, another game by a solo dev, and that one is the epitome of “quality” - has in depth storytelling, mechanics and satisfying progression. Erannorth is a collection of different systems that kinda live together, but don’t really fit well. For example the stat system is supposed to influence derived attributes, like I get +10 bludgeoning damage at 30 strength. Sounds all RPG-ish until you see that even mid game, level-ish 15 enemies routinely have 30-50 of some resistance (they just take -50 bludgeoning damage). Why? Because! And that makes the RPG system seem out of place. Why would I spend 3 levels worth of learning points to pump “agility” past 16 points to get +1 action points , when there are perks that give free action points and my level 15 character has 50 AP? It seems like the RPG system does not hold up beyond the first 3 levels or so. The same learning points issue means that I can only maintain 2-3 skills, and the rest fall behind. This means that the loot tables start to look boring. The early game is much better, with m…

It's a complex deckbuilding game with a steep learning curve. That's not a bad thing if there's enough payoff for learning the game, but for me the payoff just isn't there. The UI is too clunky and gameplay feels too abstract to really enjoy the game.

Ai slop art is a terrible choice as well as reversible

There's a good game here, it's just has problems that need to be addressed. First, the mechanics need to easier to read. Why not show the mechanic's definition in layman's terms by placing the cursor over it, like other roguelikes and CCGs? The search bar can be used for a more in-depth version of the mechanic. Second, despite the large amount of choices for builds, there is little balance with crit, shadow strike, and necromancer builds doing significant damage, and the rest chasing behind them. Normally, this wouldn't matter in a single player game, but when enemies become meatshields and do heavy damage in Vanilla and up, that lack of damage is very noticeable. Add in the fact, that if you don't kill the final enemy of a stage in a certain amount of time, reinforcements will appear. Some even stronger than the enemies you fought. Can be frustrating to deal with when low in mana or health, which happens often. Third, the level progression and economy needs to be worked on. After the first two levels, it takes a considerable amount of xp to level up, when most monsters only give 3-9 xp per elimination. Most of your xp gain comes from finishing an entire quest (20-35 xp) and that…

A guarded yes. It's a very sandboxy deck-builder that relies on the player to make their own fun, whether that be creating the most unstoppable deck without regard for any restrictions, or working efficiently within tight time and resource constraints to eke out a winner, or simply theory crafting from the plethora of race and class combinations. For me I came to the conclusion that I'd prefer a tighter game with a more defined challenge, but I do admire the scope and vision of the devs.
