"Gerrymander Madness" is a bit of political propaganda that demonstrates a broken political system. At best this is a pointless tech demo, at worst, it's US politics being shoved down gamers throats on Steam. What do you do in the game? Plug around with electoral maps which are represented by a hex grid, totally unlike actual electoral maps, so that's a huge failure. And of course these guys set out on their mission of political indoctrination, which of course should aim to reach as many people as possible, and they also made it VR exclusive, to ensure it reaches as few people as possible (Steam hardware survey shows less than 2% of Steam gamers bothered with VR). Talk about aggressively and repeatedly shooting yourself in the foot, stopping only to reload a couple of times. Whether we may or may not agree with the cause, it's my firm belief that politics of any kind has no place in gaming. It does no service to gamers at all for political or social agenda to be shoved down our throats, no matter which side is doing the shoving. We're here to have fun, not get indoctrinated. Игра "Gerrymander Madness" - забавная, но в то же время пугающе познавательная сатира на политику перекройки избирательных округов. Она умело демонстрирует абсурдность манипуляций с границами ради достижения партийного преимущества. Геймплей интуитивно понятен: игроку предлагается перерисовывать границы округов, чтобы максимизировать шансы своей партии на победу. При этом нужно учитывать демографические данные и стараться не вызвать слишком сильное возмущение населения (хотя последнее не всегда обязательно!). Визуальный стиль нарочито упрощенный, но это работает в пользу игры, позволяя сконцентрироваться на сути процесса. Сатира острая и меткая, заставляет задуматься о реальных политических процессах. "Gerrymander Madness" - это не столько развлечение, сколько интерактивный урок политологии, поданный в увлекательной форме. Рекомендуется всем, кто интересуется политикой и хочет понять, как "кухня" выбора может влиять на результаты голосования. Единственный минус - иногда процесс может казаться немного однообразным, но это с лихвой компенсируется сатирическим посылом игры.
