About Gnarly Hike
WARNING: This video game may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. It also depicts unholy entities tied to some religions and the abduction of a young woman. Player discretion is advised.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The game focuses on exploration and builds tension by keeping you on your feet, creating a deeper and stressful experience. Its story is unveiled upon investigating your surroundings. Be mindful that it is a difficult game combining investigation, pistol combat, puzzles, jumpscares and being chased.
Gnarly Hike is a first-person psychological horror game.

Explore an eerie forest in a slow-paced, atmospheric world combining beautiful and horrifying scenery along with the constant fear of being hunted, and enjoy a genuinely terrifying experience.
The game is set in a forest environment, filled with clues as to what is happening, as well as a Cabin, a Chapel, a Cave, a Hidden Burial Site and a Tower. You will have to investigate all those locations in order to uncover the dark secrets the forest holds, while being hunted by a powerful beast!
There are many settings, each with its own variety of details and clues to be uncovered.

Like every psychological horror game that takes itself seriously, Gnarly Hike contains multiple puzzles, ranging from easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy to "Oh my God dude, hurry up, it's coming, the code is ___"

This game revolves around the supernatural. Therefore, you will have to perform a number of rituals and spells to make progress in the latter parts of the game.

When spells and rituals don't do the trick, you can always trust your guns to keep the beast at bay long enough for you to escape

Sometimes, guns and spells just don't do the job...so if nothing else works, maybe it's better to just avoid the beast!

...and stay alive!

I'll start by saying that in my opinion, this game is not worth its full price at the moment. It's full of issues ranging from mildly amusing bugs to game breaking glitches and crashes. That being said, I've still managed to have some fun with this game and would recommend to buy this for a buck or two when it's on sale. A simple first-person horror game where you wander around a spooky environment looking for clues that let you advance to the next area while maybe being hunted by a gnarly monster. There are puzzles to solve, a few sections with hide/sneak mechanics, and a basic story that kind of pieces it together. There's a "boss" monster that shows up from time to time and lots jump-scares. It's built on the Unreal engine so it's pretty but there's a certain jank to the overall design that puts people off. I didn't encounter any massive bugs but the Checkpoint/Save system is a bit weird. There's also a few sections that rely too heavily on invisible walls but it didn't break anything. I liked it as a low-budget horror movie. It's simple, cheap, and both scary & janky enough to keep me amused.1 found this helpful
Gnarly Hike is a captivating horror escapade through a mysterious forest. Beautiful yet spine-chilling, the constant fear of being hunted elevates the suspense. Unravel secrets, expel spirits – a truly eerie adventure that grips you till the end !1 found this helpful
gnarly hike has clunky play a good scary feel to it sound effects apart from the ending when you shoot the skull is pretty good . puzzles are pretty good for me though my brain is pretty small it copes with the challenge ...which I accepted graphics are nice enough but a little polish wouldve made this game a little better the well I wont ruin it...end boss fight as I feel it was is frustrating due to the way the items are set up in load out that being said I did finish the game and felt for the price it was worth it despite hiding mechanics being pointless midway in the game there are many games like this and its not the worst imo1 found this helpful
