About Governor of the West
Governor of the West is a turn-based game of exploration, resource management, and outlaw placement set in the Old West. Choose a starting character, explore the West, recruit your gang, build up your town, and maybe -- if you play your cards right -- become the Governor!
- Unlock Legendary Outlaws - Recruit from a motley crew of renegades, thieves, and outlaws. Each character has their own strengths and weakness, so you'll have to adapt your strategy based on who you find!
- Explore The West - Different settlements, resources, and wildlife populate the procedurally-generated map on which you'll find yourself. Every game is different, and success is not guaranteed.
- Race Against Time - You'll arrive in the West young & healthy, but time is not on your side. Keep a watch on your age, and make sure not to let your youth go to waste!
- Manage Your Resources - Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Reno. Put your gang to work collecting supplies and gold, and use those resources to build the settlement you'll need to succeed.
- Become The Governor - Become feared across the West by building up your dread, then fight your way to victory by seizing power - or become famous and win an election the old fashioned way.
- Each playthrough is unique! Start afresh with a procedurally-generated map, a rotating cast of starting characters, and different starting perks to customize how you want to win the West.
- No one true path to glory! Different characters and starting perks combine to make different paths to victory viable. Explore and build up your dread by living off the land, or recruit a dozen settlers and build a town that can sustain your gubernatorial ambition!

Alright Time for an updated review: This game is unexpectedly addicting, and as simple as it may be, it can and will prove a challenge when you least expect it, the number of times, I've lost track of my health only to realise when its dangerously low is.... well anyway. Governor of the west is a simple yet addicting game, you start of with a base character, with no discerning skills and soon unlock more and more as you win (from what I can see there are 13 characters). You start of as a band of one, and slowly expand, your play style can be one of two options: The good fame guy who's friends with all, or the "Hey lets burn down a church and fill the west with dread" type of guy, each style has their own unique ways of winning the game. Per run you may unlock map modifiers, which either give you a helping hand... or throws you into a barren wasteland, forgotten, alone, and as you look around, on your last breath, praying you'll find someone, you will... then its a race against time, as you constantly battle your low health whilst gaining resources, fame money and maybe possibly, dread! Governor of the West, a turn-based strategy game set in the Old West, fails to live up to its potential, marred by a myriad of technical issues, poor user interface, and lack of content variety. The game's concept holds promise, but the execution falls significantly short, leaving players with a frustrating and disappointing experience. One of the most glaring issues in Governor of the West is its terrible user interface. The UI is clunky, unresponsive, and poorly designed, making navigation and menu management an exercise in frustration. The map frequently locks up between turns, preventing players from panning the screen with the mouse cursor or WASD keys. Even with the UI scaled down, the player cards cover pop-up information on the screen. Additionally, tutorial pop-ups appear every time you continue a saved game, even when this feature is disabled in the settings. These persistent problems severely hinder the gameplay experience and detract from any potential enjoyment. Governor of the West is a board-game without any opponents. So, why is this turn-based? Also, generating a different map doesn't make sense when you can move anywhere on the board at any time. Another signif…11 found this helpful
