About WestHalla

WestHalla is a squad-based roguelike set in an alternate old west. Recruit a team of wanderers to aid you on your journey, and manage their skills and equipment as you earn gold from combat. Characters that die stay dead, but there are always more travelers at the bar that are eager reach WestHalla. Five randomly generated zones of dangerous bandits and hostile (sometimes mythological) beasts stand between you and the prosperous land beyond the Valley.

Customize your team's equipment and skills
Gold is limited, and you won't be able to afford everything you need. Buy the right equipment for the battles you choose - overspending and underspending can both get you killed. Choose your upgrades carefully. With six different weapon types, 40+ weapons, and 15+ armors, there are a variety of approaches to take with each fight. -
Battle lawless bandits and strange beasts
There are 25+ enemy types, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Control the positioning and equipment of your team to gain the upper-hand in combat encounters. -
Explore an expansive western Valley
Fight your way across 15 randomly generated levels across five biomes and one final stage. -
Make each run unique
With 25 randomized unique encounters, each run will present new challenges and interesting dialogue.
Will you conquer the dangers of the Valley, or become one of the countless wanderers who meet an early grave?

Retro inspired visuals plus atmospheric tracks deliver a passable western theme. Strategy is very basic. Auto-battler combat can feel clunky. Content is lite, but balanced out by difficulty. It is let down by some QoL shortcomings, a few bugs and one critical issue. While quite enjoyable at times, until it's current shortcomings are ironed out the solid foundation that it is built upon is wasted.
