About Grubby Fingers

Scratch away at your leisure and win big money while listening to some gloomy generative dark jazz! Who knows, maybe that locked door will open at some point and you can get out of this strange gas station in the middle of nowhere... Controls:

Esc for options and pauseKeep an eye on your energy bar on the bottom of the screen!🤑🤑🤑I developed GRUBBY FINGERS over five years as a passion project. It is a game about scratching lottery tickets in a liminal gas station. While still being brutally honest about its bare-bones mechanics, it tries to hook players on the cheap thrills of small risks, big wins, and energy drinks. This meta-game uses a procedurally generated dark jazz soundtrack to lure players into exploring the eerie digital realm beyond the dopamine-fueled gameplay loop.  💰 💰 💰Emojis from OpenMoji are used in this game. Captures the feel of hanging around a grubby gas station in the middle of the night perfectly, would disassociate at again

Great game, liked the atmosphere, the mechanics and exploring this little gas station. The only thing i think it could change is a definitive ending or at least an indicator, like credits or some sort of "ending screen". I got the golden ticket from the depths of the basement, and after that, i did not know if there was anything else to do. But besides that, it's a nice little game. Oh, and also, maybe it could be a little cheaper, but that's just a thought

Buggy controls. On restart sometimes you can't move your cursor at all.

I wanted to like this so badly. No pun intended, but it looked like it scratched all my itches — ambient music, a strange and eerie liminal space, and random chance. But I did take a gamble, pun very much intended, and found that the controls were buggy and overly sensitive on the Mac, which at least outweighed the fact that it was virtually unplayable on the Steam Deck. The $1 cards yield the most variability and highest odds of winning but your inventory is maxed at 15 and it’s cumbersome to scratch. I stopped having fun when my $120 card won a prize that never appeared, and I stopped playing when I bought the $500 card. At some point I won a modest passive generated profit and stood around on my phone pounding energy drinks in-game. So if you’re looking for a simulator where you can do that, you’ll probably love it. No spoilers in the game because I lacked the patience and interest to go further after I bought the big card. I guess that’s what we call cashing out. Accuracy high because gambling is mostly boring and not very fun.
