The game certainly has an interesting premise. Send your chess pieces across the board to collect stars, gather gems to reveal safe/unsafe areas and the pieces themselves reveal a part of the board relative to how they move in chess when they fall (ie. a rook will reveal an entire column and row at the spot it falls). The boards and patterns gradually increase in size as you progress through the levels and it remains fun for the most part until the last 1/3 or 1/4 of the game. Then it turns into an extremely tedious game of moving along one convoluted route to gain a little more progress before spending another 30 seconds sending another piece along the same route to gain a little more progress; rinse and repeat. I was annoyed at the end and just wanting it to be over. A rare example of a game overstaying its welcome. Perhaps it's a bit harsh to have the last bit color the overall review, but easily half of my time was spent on those last levels. (As an aside, Level 41 is bugged and cannot be 3-starred)

Hail To The King is a basic chess based puzzle game where you must choose the right path using your chess pieces to get to the end of the puzzle board. What I like about this is that it's not a Unity asset flip or a template copy+paste. The developers genuinely tried to make a game here. What I don't like about this is the locked resolution and controls that can't be changed, the mobile tier quality, and of course the way the game maps PC gaming peripherals (HOTAS, Pedals, Racing Wheels etc) as if they are console peasant children's toy gamepads. This makes the player move constantly in one direction and makes the game completely unplayable. There's no way to turn this off. The developer would have picked this up with basic testing on PC. The quality is far too low here for me to recommend.

This is a great puzzle game. Do not confuse this game with chess. The game uses Chess elements and uses them as a very good puzzle game. I like to play this game when I am bored with other games like fps, battle royale etc. These games are a must for people to work their brain instead of their reflexes.

A chess puzzle game named after a Duke Nukem reference. Except it has very little to do with chess or Duke Nukem. The store page description is accurate though: sacrifice your chess pieces as you try to find a safe route to get the king to the other side. Collect stars for points and gems to reveal adjacent traps. It's simple but entertaining, cheap as chips and a good puzzler with a clean presentation. I purchased this at 60% off and I'd happily recommend this title.

This game is super fast and fun! I loved the concept and graphics are pretty cool! I think it has potential as it helps you train your brain! I've done a throughout review on my youtube channel providing the main points I'd love to see implemented in the future or maybe in a sequel ✨ https://youtu.be/d8f95yxuP2s
