藏梦 Hidden Dream

Hidden Dream is a puzzle platform game about Princess WenCheng's dream journey to Tibet. You can see that a lot of love has been poured into the game by its Chinese developers. They try to immerse the player into Chinese cultural traditions and scenery. It is an arduous journey through the mountains and as you ascend the puzzles get harder. There is a English translation and the discussions section on the store page tells you how to access it. The downside is that the language does not save when you leave the game. You have to reset it every time you play a session. The graphics are simple, but clean and colourful. The snow scenes are particularly pretty. Each chapter has a different environment and there were 6 in total. The heart of the game was puzzles galore and each are so different and unique. Most are medium level difficulty but the last two chapters had more complex ones which can fry the brain. They had an Eschereque feeling to them which does do your head in! There were box placements, flip puzzles, shadow puzzles, ability to jump with wind, lots of puzzles moving levers or blocks and water puzzles. I always felt pleased with myself when I completed one! Just finished Hidden Dream, and wow—what a gem. The puzzles are seriously clever, and you can really tell the devs put a ton of thought and care into each one. Every detail feels purposeful and beautifully crafted. The art is lovely—dreamy and thoughtfully done. I also really enjoyed the collectible notes—the writing is beautiful and adds unexpected depth to the whole experience. If you’re into puzzle games, this one’s 100% worth checking out. Easily 10+ hours of playtime.
