Holt is a badly made 2D retro pixel adventure platformer that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. There's a sci-fi theme and the developers put a lot of work into making the game look bad based on the extensive effort that went into the terrible, obsolete pixel "art" visuals. The game is in Early Access and is more of a demo than a full game. The game hasn't been updated in almost 3 months which shows signs it's already in Development Hell, and may never leave the Early Access program. There's a slew of design and technical problems with the demo that prevent me from recommending it. Ecit: The developer has abandoned the game and even gone on to work on other projects, and is simply abusing Steam Early Access. First of all, PC gamers will be immediately insulted by a demand from the developer that a console peasant children's toy gamepad is used. This is simply unacceptable when PC gamers all have a KB+M they can use. Do we look like console peasants to Void Hook Studios? Apparently we do. the lack of fluidness between moving and attack inputs was atrocious.
