✦ AI summary
You're a tower guard defending the last human settlement, juggling zombie defense with helping desperate survivors find refuge in Hope. This short, story-driven pixel art adventure blends simple shooting and dialogue choices to explore what it really means to survive when the world ends.
A tower guard protects the town’s survivors but how does he pass the time when not shooting zombies? Hope; or How We Survived is a short, story based game with pick up and play shooting and dialogue mechanics.
The zombie apocalypse has come! Fear not, humanity has worked out how to keep it at bay. Though we have been pushed to the brink we are now, slowly, starting to rebuild. You have a small part to play; you are a tower guard who defends the town of Hope. Help any survivors that make it to Hope and keep the town safe.
It’s not glamorous or fun but it’s work that needs doing and you’re glad to be helping.

A short, fun, beautiful and touching little game. Worth the full price! A truly engaging story with multiple endings.
Short and sweet, pretty.
Good game, lovely game, actually. The dialog is nice, the art style is nice, the story is nice, and that's all I can really ask for. Dialog goes at its own pace, what I mean by that is that you can't change it. Of course you can make the dialog show up instantly, however it disappears after a second or two. You should have to click to move on, so you can read completely at your own pace. The grumbles, moans, or whatever they were that the characters kept doing, was extremely annoying, I would've rathered any other sound effect, speaking of sound, no music. The characters feel static, the same animation for the survivor every-day, even for the little cutscene at the end. Gun play is okay, but very simplistic. Long story short, come for the immersive story, not for the gun-play.
Short and sweet, a really nice experience. Would love to see another game by these guys. I will probably play it again to see if there's different endings.
I really enjoyed this. The text speed bothered me at first, but after a while it really helped to set the pacing for the game.
got to play it prerelease it became my fill in game. only got a few minutes to game? or killing time waiting for friends to get on? This is the game for you. I originally wanted to make a video review but at the time I couldn't give it a good review, since then it's grown on me. i find myself playing hope more I care to admit. I've completed this at least 9 times.
