Very bad

decent game. but 30 seconds in you get swarmed, have a single fire ball, and havent even leveled yet. too many enemies. they scale too fast. so an enemy 1 minute in take 3 hit for 50 damage each and doesnt die. minute in you have a screen full of enemies and nothing to do about it. i dont mine the screen filled but leveling needs to be faster and the monster need to not scale as hard and maybe wont be so frustrating. i kept going maybe with a few upgrades, this wont be so annoying. but nothing could get me to the 5 minute mark.

This one keeps going on sale frequently for under a dollar, and to be fair, it's serviceable enough and it's hard to look at that sum of money as wasted here. However, the enemy variety is very low, the weapon choices are limited with only a few that are truly viable, and even the balance is really all over the place, as it's easy to get swarmed by the zombies in the first minute or two with the wrong weapon RNG or choices or, alternatively, absolutely demolish them with the right armaments. I can see putting more time into this with more enemy variety, better balance and a more exciting progression, but as of today I'd send you towards dozens of bullet heaven titles with more meat and excitement, despite the cheap entry price of Zombie Survivors. The negative reviews completely unsold me on this game. Earlier the morning of this review, it was on sale for one buck US. I couoldn't pass up trying it and seeing how bad this Zombie Survivors (yes, there's another on Steam) really was. All I can say is most of the reviewers probably never played a roguelike arena before, or held this up to the current state Vampire Survivors is in. While this is far from that title, what it provides is six characters, three stages with their own levels of difficulty, and a permanent upgrade store that makes surviving much easier. Oh, and one review stated a difficulty imbalance by getting hordes of enemies "30 seconds in"? Anyone familiar with battle arena or roguelike style games will find that statement hilarious, even on the most difficult of the three maps. Yes, it ramps up fast, but you can't dive in head first with a game like this and expect to come alive right off the bat. Start small, and in no time you'll unlock the other stronger characters, not tio mention the many upgrades. For $1.04 US, I sunk in a good six hours while enjoying every moment. I regret listening to the "mostly negative" feedback and waited to give this one a go. …
