About Hope's End

Arcades as they once existed are all but dead. Personally, we thought that sucked. The Hope's End Arcade is our attempt to revive the feel and spirit classic arcade games for the modern era. We want to deliver fast, chaotic experiences that don't require committing to investing an hour or longer to play a single session of a game. We want to provide games that deliver the arcade experience you remember (but with the benefit of more modern game design mechanics and concepts).

So we invite take a walk with us into our (virtual) arcade. See if there's a game (or several) that strike your fancy. You can purchase each game individually as DLC for Hope's End, like adding a new arcade cabinet to your collection. We're not out to charge you quarter by quarter like the arcades of old, once the game's yours, it's yours for good. You can play two of the ability sets in our first game, The Psions, for free to take the concept for a spin.

So why not take a break and enjoy a game or two? Soak in the atmosphere of a bygone era. Enjoy the havoc and the freedom that a bit of classic arcade chaos can bring, unconstrained by levels, progression, daily missions, or other nonsense that just distracts from the pure fun where it's just you and the game.

Quite chaotic UI. No / bad tutorial. Progression seems to be focused around deleting your permanent progression for a marginal permanent permanent gain. Quite frankly: feels terrible to play. Much better games in the genre to spend your time and money on.

"Hope's End" is pretty nasty. The primary purpose of this product was not to be a game at all, instead, the developer was trying to build a store within a store, they wanted Hope's End to be a storefront for crappy little arcade games that you would have to buy off the developer (after you already bought the shop!!!!). However, nobody fell for it, and nobody liked the crappy tower defense demo they sold. So yeah the developer wanted you to pay $6 USD to buy a shop in which you could then buy crappy minigames. Jesus wept. What do you do in the game? Nothing, the developer added no extra games after their paid demo failed. The developers abandoned this 2 years and 1 month ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. Visually, this has some fairly mediocre/dated looking graphics that will understandably be a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. On the important matter of pricing and value for gamers, there's a lot going on here with monetisation, so this really shouldn't …

This game slaps. I'm terrible at it.

tower defense-like game combined with god-like overview and powers as to shoot 'm all

Still early, but I did not like what I see so far. I dislike tower defense games where you have to scroll a lot, and this one puts you on a decent sized map with 3 entrances to defend right away, and I spent my first game scrolling around trying to figure out where to place towers, and you only get set tower positions, which usually sucks. Felt like you were more dependent on using powers than placing towers.
