It's not particularly deep, nor difficult, and regardless of skill you will eventually win through sheer meta-upgraded power. But it's well polished and imo HH is a pretty entertaining couple of hours doing incremental gaming with light arcade elements. The targeting system was novel, with persistent torpedoes being semi-perpetual and steerable around the map in loops and whorls, where most of the difficulty comes in not letting them be shot down rather than standard aiming. On that note, it was interesting to compare this approach to the demo of Hydra Heli 2 (upcoming release), where at least the 'active' mode uses a more traditional direct aim targeting. I didn't test HH2's "passive" targeting option. The HH1 system was entertaining, but also part of what contributed to the sense that good aim wasn't particularly essential.2 found this helpful

It was interesting, but some of the updates (their price), not balanced at all.
