Unnamed Space Idle

Gold standard of idle games.

On balance, this is an almost neutral review. USI is a very, very slow game after the first day or so. This is not a problem in itself. I'm familiar with very long idle games, all the way from when they made it big in the Flash game era, and I still play extremely slow idle games today. The first problem is that USI is boring and uninteresting. There's something about the lack of story, the uneven pacing of new systems, the grind, how long it takes to get set up after prestiging, something else, but it quickly devolves into feeling like a hassle. Again, that's not necessarily a problem, but for me, the bureaucracy has to be counterbalanced with something interesting or meaningful. The second problem is that USI is not player-friendly. There's zero allowance for playing the game outside of how it was intended to be played. Deviate just a little bit, and the game slows down even more drastically. Which is, once again, not necessarily a problem, but it reduces even further how interesting the game is. USI is a middle-of-the-road way to sink your time if you just want something to spend a lot of time on. There are far more interesting and fun incremental games out there, but at the…

Great game. A staggering level of detail and complexity waiting for you to peel it back layer by layer. Are you a min-maxing, meta god? Cool you'll enjoy this. Do you roll with vibes and forget about the game for a few days at times? Also cool, you'll enjoy this. I am.

This is my favourite idle game and one of my favourite games full stop. The level of depth and different mechanics is incredible. Thank you to the developer !!

Great idle game, exactly what you would expect from an idle, has a lot of late game expansions, and always new unlocks even after hundreds of hours.
