The so-called "singleplayer" campaign is one level where it's game over after 2 minutes due to a timer. If you reach a certain high score, you win, and that's it. But good luck doing so, I couldn't do it at easy. The game is free, but it also hides publicity for a blockchain company in the INNBC Universe section. It says on the store page AI was used to enhance 2d and 3d prerendered assets. I also strongly suspect the pilot pictures visible on the store page and loading screen were AI generated (edit: According to the developer, they were not). The game does look really good with big sprites and animated backgrounds. However, your ship is so big that you'll often strike enemies without wanting to. Yet you also have to ram those glowing enemies to regain health and power up. The enemies only move slowly from right to left. They do not move in any other way nor do they shoot except a few missiles when they explode. After playing this, I felt kind of swindled. It's not because it's free that it should get a free pass.

Sometimes i like a good old Fallback into good old Gaming Times. In the 90´s there were typical "public Domain" Games by Indie Developer. Short selfmade Games with a price everybody can afford. Many of them were a little bit "trashy" but charming. Like this one. Welcome to INNBC STARFIGHTER. At first, i´m sorry that i have no Screenshots this Time, didn´t work. But to be honest, there isn´t much to see. INNBC STARFIGHTER is a short Arcade Shooter in 90´s Style. Like in that Times it is your Target to reach the highest Score possible. A typical Sidescroller but with the typical FIRE AND FORGET playing you wwill not be able to get that far. You have a Shield and Limited Ammo. In a Limited Time you face a Wave a many Insect Enemies. Be carefull while shooting them. There are few of them that have a special Shield around them and do NOT shoot them. Ram them to get Ammo, more Cannons and Shields. The Ones without that Special Shield you can shoot down, but be carefull, the special Units can be with them. This Game Mechanic is clever, so you must be carefull because of your Ammo and what you shoot down. I really like the Graphics very much. Especially the Backgriund Graphics with …

This is pretty basic and not fun. Unlike virtually every shmup out there - your ship has a MASSIVE hitbox. The game also limits your ammunition with a recharge metre - forcing you to shoot sparingly. Even trying to ignore the design choices that I don't like, the whole thing feels very basic, Ninpo blast is $2 - pick that up instead or better yet, if you haven't, download Tyrian 2000. It's free and a real classic.

This is definitely one of those "I wish there was a neutral rating" moments. I really liked the presentation. The sprites all look cool, and the whole thing throws off a flash game vibe, which is cool in it's own way. The game plays perfectly fine. There are definitely some things that turned me off. As cool as the sprites and background things look, it's super, super busy at all times, and it was pretty hard just knowing exactly what was an enemy, and what was just background visuals. The enemies, and you yourself, are HUGE, and the screen is just full of enemies at all times. Normally, this would be a totally typical thing for a shmup, but the issue comes with the fact that you have limited ammo, which slowly recharges over time. There were times when I had to just fly at the very top or bottom of the screen to avoid enemies, because I couldn't destroy anything with my 0 ammo. The game's powerup system is a little on the weird side too. You have to RAM enemies to get the powerup, and it's just too counterintuitive for my tastes. All in all, I don't know about this one. It's really neat looking, but I just didn't have the greatest time with this game. For free, check it out if …
