"Inside the Crow´s Nest" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from ESAT. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. This looked like it might even have been a promising game, if it wasn't a student project. Sure, there's a lot of first person puzzle adventure games on Steam, but most of them are awful asset flips. This looked genuine and the students at ESAT did a professional job with the graphics, credit where it's due. I did like playing this game, it's pretty short and the story is fun. However, there were definitely some glitches and hardships during my playthrough. I kept getting set back even with the checkpoint system, the storytelling is a bit hard to follow, the controls are difficult and while the screen shifts are cool, they often made the combat aspect of the game hard to maneuver around and got me killed with the large cultists as well as the falling bookshelf scene multiple times. All of this is to say that while there are certainly things to iron out, this game is fun and if it had proper time to develop fully it would have been excellent. Great job to the devs, I really did like playing.
Controls are pretty janky
The game is interesting only that at some point it's very dark and you don't see anything. Or die randomly from smoke
Movement feels good, combat feels good! Great game so far. The art style really made me happy.
cant 100% the game cause you can't pick up the first mysterious ball. the prompt shows up when crouching but wont let me pick it up
