You run a cafe while playing as one of 4 characters, each with their own quirk and playstyle, and running the business isn't easy; challenges appear as you work, sometimes having their own unique encounter where instead of running the cafe, you deter pesky intruders, sometimes on their own turf! Your perfomance is rated based on the coins you get from customers, better service = higher value coins when you finish, you get up to 3 croissants: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Silver and Gold croissants unlock additional color palettes for the characters and extra, completely different gamemodes for you to try your hand at. This is all wrapped up with a story that is fully voiced, featuring people you may already know.. On any sale, this game is worth your coins and your gold croissants. + Good twist on the service genre + Each playable character feels unique - Terrible voice acting - Awful action segments (3 periodic bosses followed by a boss rush of 5 levels at the end, 1 "exploration" level) - Clunky UI and menus It's a real shame because I actually find the core game of serving customers to be very satisfying. I wish that, instead of adding a bunch of boss levels with very clunky controls, they had continued to flesh out the main room service. Add more tables and/or customer types. By the end, you only have: normal, shy, child, busy, professor, and angry. I think of something like Plants vs Zombies 1 that launched with 22 standard zombies (not counting bosses, summons, or minigames). I can forgive the poor voice acting because you can turn it off (I think they probably gave voice roles to donors), but the menus are slow and require you to back out to the main menu to change options. No accessibility stuff, no volume sliders, just on/off. You can skip start and end of level cutscenes, but not cutscenes in the middle of boss battles. A general lack of polish. It’s On The Mouse is definitely different from other games, but it keeps you entertained! From every level giving you new challenges, and rewards you by giving you new content for the game. I definitely recommend to give this game a try, and stick with it! Have a great shift, fellow mouse!

Its quite obvious that the models and environments are rough, the voice acting is a very mixed bag, and the UI is basic. For what it is the presentation is workable. This is a cute anime style game with cute enough characters and environments. You can still tell what things are supposed to be and clearly identify them from a distance. Some of the voice acting is difficult to listen to, but other times its quite good. In my opinion this is forgivable from non-professionals.
