Developed and published by Unexpected, KallaX takes inspiration from the universal struggle of assembling flat-pack furniture and turns it into a multiplayer experience built entirely around cooperation, communication, and controlled chaos. Rather than emphasizing fast reflexes or competitive gameplay, it challenges players to work together under unusual conditions where success depends on how well teammates can explain instructions and interpret them. This simple but inventive premise gives the game a unique identity among cooperative party titles, transforming an ordinary household task into an entertaining series of comedic mishaps and satisfying victories. The core gameplay revolves around an asymmetric communication system that immediately sets KallaX apart. One player is responsible for reading the assembly instructions but cannot physically participate in building the furniture, while the remaining players must construct each item using only spoken guidance. This separation of information forces everyone to communicate clearly, making teamwork far more important than individual skill. I can see this being fun and chaotic with a lot of players at first, but it gets boring very quickly. The mechanics and controls are quite poor, and the experience becomes stale not long after starting. It just wasn't for me.
- janky controls - too whimsical - lack depth The struggle is to put effort to play a game with bad controls, low production value and ill-conceived design.
