RPG Maker strikes again! Kilcount is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Notably, the "developer" couldn't work out how to use RPG Maker to make a JRPG (the only thing it can do, and it's terrible at it). Instead, we have a godawfully bad e-book/adventure game where you plod through a godawfully written sci-fi fanfiction. Notably, the developer opted not to run an asset flip, and created their own assets. Asset flipping, using other people's assets like RPG Maker assets or Unity store assets is never really okay, those assets are meant to educate and act as placeholders and should never be used as a substitute for doing the job of a game developer. However, getting back to the point, if the assets you create on your own are worse than this, then this is even less acceptable. That's the case here... the game assets are some of the laziest I've seen. Immediate fail. Simple graphics, lack of diagonal movement, but very enjoyable. Nothing happens outside of text-boxes for the most part - not much moves apart from you. Very satisfying to "guess" who wants what object and a nice script.

Эффекты взрывов и выстрелов выглядят сочно и приятно для глаз, а дизайн врагов, хоть и минималистичный, вполне узнаваем и разнообразен. Особенно хочется отметить звуковое сопровождение. Саундтрек динамичный и качающий, прекрасно задает темп игры и не позволяет расслабиться ни на секунду. Звуки выстрелов и взрывов также выполнены качественно и добавляют реалистичности происходящему на экране. Несмотря на простоту, игра обладает высокой реиграбельностью. Постоянно хочется побить свой предыдущий рекорд, пройти дальше и открыть новое оружие. Разнообразие оружия, хоть и небольшое, позволяет немного изменить тактику боя и подстраиваться под разные ситуации. You should play Kilcount! Make some friends, see some things that remind you of home, stretch your legs and your antlers! This is my #1 recommended game to my pals and family. Low commitment, huge pay-off. Have fun! :)

Super cute, super interesting, and full of silly characters. One of my favourite games of all time. Fun, simple quests. Hopeful ending. All around worth the play if you're into games like this.
