Kochu’s Dream, developed and published by Sokpop Collective, is a compact 3D action-adventure that embraces whimsy, brevity, and imaginative perspective as its defining strengths. The game begins with a simple yet enchanting premise: after falling asleep in a garden, the protagonist awakens transformed into a small beetle, thrust into a world where ordinary backyard objects become towering landmarks. This playful shift in scale immediately establishes the tone of the experience, inviting players into a vibrant miniature world that feels both familiar and fantastical. Rather than relying on heavy exposition, the game allows its premise to unfold naturally through exploration and environmental storytelling. Movement and traversal form the backbone of Kochu’s Dream. As a beetle navigating oversized plant pots, thick blades of grass, and sprawling garden terrain, players are encouraged to run, jump, climb, and explore every corner of the environment. The initial review I wrote for this had me praising this game for being one of the absolutely perfect Sokpop games... and in some ways it still is: The artstyle is unique and quirky, the movement and battle system REALLY are surprisingly complete for a 3D platformer like this, the music is actually great... AND the game has saving! (Which many Sokpop games lack) ...Then I got to the 20-minutes speedrunning achievement. I discovered that the game has severe running speed issues. On my PC (4070 12GB) it runs very slowly; 15 min. ingame time is about 25 minutes IRL. On my Steam Deck, it seemingly runs well, but here I wasn't able to get the speedrunning achievement at all; well that's because it runs too fast on the Deck... This and some very irritating RNG at the bosses made it much more frustrating than it should have been... I would love to see more games like this, or an expanded version of this, but the running issues need to be fixed.

This game was pretty cute! The graphics were very adorable, it had a very silly humor tied to it and it was pretty neat exploring the world as a bug! Sokpop has a very specific feel to their games that I've been enjoying so far!

Terribly cute and didn't overstay its welcome, considering it's one of those cutesy game that force you to move in an awkward, clumsy fashion. That being said I did feel like a bug, so I walked away with a positive impression overall
