About KreatureKind

Magic is disappearing forever, unless your brave group of activists can save it!

After centuries of increasing magic use, the world’s mana well is running dry. If entirely depleted, magic will be gone forever. This does not go unnoticed by Riley and her friends Mitra and Yui. They set out from their hometown, trying to convince people and monsters to use mana more consciously. Along the way, they meet and team up with other like-minded people. Who could resist Tau the cook’s warm hugs, Quinn’s epic role-playing sessions, or Finley’s thought-provoking games? Perhaps they will even befriend the world famous rockstar Luca! Each of the activists contribute to the cause with their unique sets of debate skills, which they hone along the way.

Easy to learn, hard to master

KreatureKind offers unique gameplay, which is approachable to beginners while still giving seasoned players a proper challenge. If you're new to this kind of game, you'll figure it out. Played every card battler on the market? These monsters will still give you a run for your money!

Discover, unlock, upgrade

Supercharge the seven playable characters by unlocking and upgrading cards! The mysterious former activist’s shop may just have the card you need to succeed. For a permanent boost to your team member’s debate skills, plushies give you the edge that will tip the scales in your favour.

Go on campaign

Win the game by convincing KreatureKind’s seven magical factions to join your cause! Enjoy exploring vibrant villages, forests, and cities filled with troubled creatures and charming NPCs. Debate your way through the randomly generated maps and persuade each of the faction leaders to support you.

What to expect

  • 🧠 Wholesome Card-Based "Debate Battles" – Debate monsters instead of defeating them in combat.

  • 🎮 Perfect for Solo Players – Designed for strategic exploration at your own pace.

This game should've never been made. Every character design makes me want to choke on my own floppa. The dialogue reminds me of my time at my liberal arts school, and that's not a good thing. I'm going to vote for Trump for a 4th time because of this game.

A friend bought me this game as a gag. If you saw that one and only person concurrently playing it on steamdb that was me! This game is both good and original, but the parts that are good are not original (licensed music from monstercat mostly), and the parts that are original aren't good. This game is a culmination of 14 years of development experience, and the developer's pronouns were revealed to me when the game crashed partway through the tutorial. Valiant Game Studio is not currently hiring, for fear of brushing against actual talent. This game claims to be both a roguelike and a roguelite, which is not possible, nor is it either. When you "die" you apparently keep all your cards and relics^H^H^H^H^H^Labubus, so it's just grind to win. This game won some awards, yet the tech to right click on cards to see what they do hasn't made its way to Sweden yet. This game fills a much needed gap.

Yeah, this one is just not for me. I saw that this is a card game and thought I might try it because I like card battlers and noticed that there are magical creatures in a fantasy-like world, but here I have to give a clear thumbs down. First of all things that stood out to me was the music. I turned it off when I heard it for the first time, and I recommend everyone who wants to enjoy the game to turn it off too. Sadly, it switches back on when you re-enter the game or lose in an encounter and doesn't stay turned off... The character designs make me feel uncomfortable when I take a closer look, but that might be just me. Overly happy-looking characters creep me out. I have played games with a similar design in the past, but I just don't think it looks great. Saving magic because everyone is using it for the most useless stuff ever, and winning them over in arguments. Like, sorry, are these people living in this world completely dense that they'd rather have magic disappear than just do basic stuff themselves?! You can't tell me that it takes a group of teenagers(activists) to enlighten them. It took me four and a half hours to finish the story. Anyway, if you like card battler…

Cool premise (debating opponents to reduce hypothesis points) and lots of interesting mechanical aspects. Some interesting synergies between characters, but not much opportunity to really fine-tune the deck building aspects. If you want a cozy deckbuilder, this is pretty close. If you want a lot of challenge and deckbuilding strategy, this isn't that. I finished the campaign in 7.5 hours.

really fun and cute fantasy deck-builder game!! i've always wanted to try a deck builder but they tend to be a little dense to learn; KreatureKind was much easier for me to follow as a beginner! i love the overall activist theme of the story, and the art style is gorgeous. that said, i was surprised at the sound effect they chose for Yui when she comes up for battle, since she does not speak any other Japanese prior to battle. i think something more reflective of her personality would be a better alternative (i am pretty early game right now though tbf). i thought there was a fair amount of diversity in the main characters and NPCs, but would have loved to see more fat people in the cast! overall though, a fun fantasy deck building game with an excellent soundtrack and a welcome focus on empathy.

The music is the best bit. but the character design is super cute and i really like how it's just having sensible discussions not like trying to unalive anyone, cute, whole, just overall great vibes
