The developer just revoked my press key despite prior coverage without any sort of communication. Shady behavior and buyer beware.

[h1][b]4/10[/b][/h1] Combat plays out as: Move unit(s), end turn, end turn, end turn, end turn. It's not very tactical and not very fun. Later, you get to add "use ability" in there before ending the turn 5 times. Wowie. Oh and there's a delay between each turn with no way to speed it up. TL;DR: 90% of the game is just hitting "End Turn" over and over and over... [h2]Pros:[/h2] - Music and sound design are quite good - I like the graphics, overall. They're colorful and fun, yet not over-the-top [h2]Mehs:[/h2] - Really needs a narrator at least. AI voices can be quite good now, so that would be an option here over silence [h2]Cons:[/h2] - No font or UI options and much of it is extremely tiny. Why are so many buttons so tiny? Who are they trying to keep from clicking these things?? - Combat is extremely tedious because it takes many turns to kill anything, but you're not able to do anything during that time except End Turn over and over - While I mostly like the graphics, the art design is just a rip off of Warcraft

Don't be fooled by the lameness of the tutorial. This game transitions into a VERY fun, VERY interesting game that will scratch your power point control itch. The only complaints I really have are that there's a few bugs, some unexplained ways in which some skills do or don't work in certain situations, and it will crash on the very rare occasion. I've never actually lost any progress from a crash though, as it only ever seems to happen after you confirm the deck you've built. In those cases, it always takes you back to the very last move of your last mission, so you just click confirm, and you're right back at the deck builder. Overall, I got this on heavy sale, and it was MORE than worth the money.

Last Regiment takes an unusual approach to turn-based strategy by blending tactical battles, card-driven abilities, army construction, and simultaneous orders into one compact experience. Developed and published by Boomzap Inc, it avoids the sprawling complexity often associated with strategy games and instead concentrates on relatively fast battles where positioning and anticipation are crucial. Its fantasy setting also refuses to take itself too seriously, filling the continent of Kothia with pirates, orcs, mechanical constructs, explosive Fae, flying squirrels, and chainsaw-wielding elves. The simultaneous turn system is easily one of its strongest ideas. Rather than watching one side move an entire army before responding, players prepare their decisions and then see those orders resolved together. This turns prediction into an important tactical skill. You might order a unit to attack an enemy position only to discover that the target has moved elsewhere, while a carefully anticipated enemy advance can be intercepted at exactly the right moment. This game is criminally underrated. It's very good, with tons of lore, a decent AI, good combat system and overall game mechanics. I really enjoyed it.

Love this game! Simple but not simplistic! Very nuanced as there are many options to explore in the campaign. A short learning curve and then it is one grueling battle after the next. I spent my whole day playing this one from 3am until 4pm today. Finally it exhausted me but I loved it!
