About Late'O'Clock

Late'O'Clock is a capstone school project that we worked on for 6 months. NailGun Studios wanted to make a comedy-like stealth game that had an ever-changing and dangerous work environment. This vision allowed us to create a game based in an office, but throw unexpected obstacles at the player. The game has 15 levels in total with a lot of collectibles that give a little lore to our small world. This was our first team project for this long so it was a new experience for all of us. We wanted our game to be on a public platform for free so we could look back on it as we pursue our careers, and for you, the player, to enjoy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and we hope you enjoy playing our game as much as we did making it.

Grey, it is never okay to be grey, this game is just so, grey. I installed this game expecting a ground breaking experience, boy was I wrong. I started the game and thought yyeeeeeessssssssssss, click start, game fires right up. Looking good, I feel the rush I have been WOKEN!, then the second level starts...lets just say it is NOT Russev day here. This game feels like it was made by someone who just cares about a good parse.

"Late'O'Clock" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students hammered out a rather dry and uninspired joke game about stealthing into your office when you're late for work, which just involves the usual top down moving around and sight cone avoidance... nothing new here, nothing interesting either. The graphics aren't great, low quality assets and a bland, monotonous backdrop. That's understandably a turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the f…

It's not as bad as it looks and gave me 30 minutes of a proper stealth challenge.
