About Stealth Bastard Deluxe

✦ AI summary

Stealth Bastard Deluxe strips away the slow creeping of traditional stealth games and replaces it with lightning-fast platforming action where one mistake means instant death from deadly security robots and lasers. Sneak through 80 levels using dynamic shadows, tactical equipment, and split-second timing, then create and share your own brutal levels with the community.

Stealth games are awesome. Hiding from The Man, skulking in shadows, the thrill of infiltration. But why do they have to be so... slow?

That was the question that spawned Stealth Bastard, the fast-paced, nail-biting antidote to tippy-toed sneaking simulators that the world had so desperately been craving. Now, building on the ideas sketched out in this unholy marriage of deft, wall-hugging stealthiness and insane break-neck platforming, we’re proud to bring you the bigger, better, shinier Stealth Bastard Deluxe.

Armed with only your wits and a pair of top of the range Stealthing Goggles, it’s your job to sneak your way through a deadly facility that’s determined to extinguish your fragile little life. With no weapons and no armour, being seen means instant death. Stay out of the light to avoid the attention of deadly security robots! Leap like a lusty salmon to avoid those zap-happy lasers! Think fast as the walls close in around you! Only the fastest and sneakiest will make it to the exit without being mangled by the facility’s security systems. Will you be among them?

Key Features

  • Online Level Repository: Levels created in the level editor can be uploaded to the online level repository, from where other people who own the game will download them automatically.
  • Steam Cloud Support: Pick up your save no matter where you are.
  • Achievements: An assortment of dastardly achievements, some obvious, some mind-bogglingly oblique. Will you get them all?

This is a really solid 2D stealth platformer with a great sense of humor and tight level design. The core gameplay is genuinely fun — sneaking past guards, hiding in vents, timing your movements, and occasionally stabbing someone when things go wrong. The pixel art is clean, the levels are well-crafted with multiple paths, and the increasing difficulty curve keeps things interesting. There’s a nice variety of gadgets and mechanics that get introduced as you progress, and the “test chamber” style levels give it a fun Portal-like vibe. I really enjoyed the challenge and the smug satisfaction when you pull off a perfect stealth run. It’s short but very replayable if you’re going for high scores or perfect runs. My only real complaints are that it can get pretty frustrating in some later levels (trial-and-error deaths are real), and the game is quite old-school in its approach — which is fine, but might not click with everyone. Also, for some reason achievements don’t seem to unlock properly in the Deluxe version (at least they didn’t for me), which is pretty annoying if you care about that stuff. Overall though, it’s a charming and competent little stealth game that punches above its …

Stealth Bastard Deluxe completely strips away the slow, patient waiting of traditional stealth games and replaces it with high-speed, lethal puzzle-platforming. You play as a fragile little clone trying to escape a facility filled with deadly lasers, security cameras, and robotic eyes that want to instantly vaporize you.The game is all about trial and error. You will die a lot, but because the respawns are instant, it never feels unfair—only highly addictive. Sneaking through the shadows at top speed and timing your jumps perfectly feels incredibly intense. The sarcastic messages written on the facility walls mocking your deaths add a great layer of dark humor. It is a challenging, razor-sharp indie masterpiece with a killer electronic soundtrack. If you want a stealth game that tests your speed and reflexes rather than your patience, this is it! 9/10

Love art style the mechanics and stuff but... Sometimes it tries to be so challenging so hard that puzzles become counterintuitive or simply not enjoyable at all. I'd say the game is good but it gets frustrating quite often honestly.

Stealth Bastard Deluxe is a surprisingly clever puzzle platformer that mixes tight stealth mechanics with satisfying brain-teasers, think Portal's snarky humor and test-chamber design applied to a 2D clone-runner with insta-kill hazards everywhere. The light/shadow visibility system with your color-coded goggles adds genuine tension, and each sector introduces fresh mechanics that keep the formula from going stale across all 80 levels. Fair warning: despite the name, this leans more twitch-platformer than slow methodical stealth, and chasing S-ranks will test your patience as much as your reflexes. The dark humor scrawled on the walls, especially the death messages mocking your failures, gives it real personality, and the solid controls mean you can only blame yourself when you die for the 50th time on the same spike pit. If you enjoy challenging puzzle platformers and don't mind dying a lot, this is absolutely worth picking up.
