I thought Letters was just another simple game about, well... letters. I was wrong. The graphics are simple. The gameplay is simple. At first, it doesn't seem like there's much to it. It's just letters. But somewhere along the way, I started paying attention. There's something strangely satisfying about seeing letters come together, making progress, unlocking things, and slowly realizing that these tiny symbols somehow have complete control over my free time. What I love most is that Letters doesn't need a massive world or an elaborate story. It gives you letters. You interact with the letters. And somehow, that's enough. I've played games with bigger worlds, better graphics, and far more complicated mechanics. I don't remember most of them. I'll remember the letters. Some games are fun while you're playing them. Letters makes you stare at the alphabet and realize you've somehow turned it into a gaming experience. 100% recommended.

Letters is a really nice little adventure game that does something quite different with words. I follow Sarah from childhood into her teenage years and eventually young adulthood, moving through handwritten letters and later the early internet as her life changes. Instead of just reading her story, I can actually interact with the words around her and use them to solve puzzles. I like that because the writing is not simply there to tell me what is happening. Words are part of the actual gameplay. The word puzzles are easily the strongest part for me. I can break words apart and rearrange letters to create new words that change things in the environment or help Sarah get past a problem. It is a simple mechanic, but it gives me a different way of thinking about puzzles because I am paying attention to language rather than looking for keys or switches. Some of the solutions are obvious once I see what the game wants me to do, while others make me stop and think about which word could actually work. I also like the way the presentation changes as Sarah grows up. The earlier parts use hand drawn letters and drawings that give everything a personal feeling, while the later sections mov…

(Stalemate) Review: I'm halfway with the achievements, & I am planning on completing this game! (Thumbs Up) Review: The game is okay, easy, & simple, basically no different from any other clicking game. (Thumbs Down) Review: You would think punching random "Letters" would help the count go faster, but in truth behind the mask, it's only a one clicking button challenge, so this will be awhile.
