About Light City District
INTRO
Light City District is home to Agent Null. But a telephone call will drag him out of his office and into the bustling streets. He will have to help people along the way, play with kids, and know all the characters in this strange city.
Main idea behind this game

What if all the 80's Game and Watch like systems were part of the same world?
That is the idea behind Light City District.
To create a huge open world game, in realtime, with interaction with all the characters of that world, secondary missions, while embracing all the artistic limitations of those old 80's games before even 8 bit games were invented.
This is the FIRST chapter of this series. Hope people like it and I can do more.
All the main elements of the game were created as the old Game and Watch systems were: with paper and pencil. Everything taking into account that nothing can overlap, becuase it had to be able to be created as a liquid cristal display.
All the scenes have two layers: the moving characters an dthe coloured background.
This is to imitate the way most of these systems got some colour, with transparent films for the backgrounds and polarised films for the moving elements.
We are even imitating the small shadows that the elements project in real physical systems.

Main features:
- Openworld exploration
- Feel again the simplicity of GameAndWatch like games.
- Character conversations and reactions change with the time of day
- Pure arcade action
- Puzzle solving
- Secondary missions.
- A Cinema Noire inspired story.
- Autosaving in each scene which allows a pick a few minutes for play and continue later.
You can play it with your keyboard or controller.

Captures the feel and gameplay of old LCD games perfectly and has very forgiving checkpoints so you never feel frustrated when learning a mini game segment. Hope we get to see more chapters because it's a very promising start.5 found this helpful
i really love this game. if you have ever liked lcd games or point and click games please play this. i really enjoy the style and character design. the dialogue and text formatting are really expressive. i think the real time mechanic was cool. it was nice waking up to finish the story and having new characters to talk to that weren't related to the story. there is so much passion and detail in this game despite how short it is. i think it's well worth the $5 asked. i can't wait to see where the story goes next.4 found this helpful
I actually enjoyed this game. The concept of going back to hand held games and making one for the PC I thought was original and enjoyable. The world, the characters and the story were well done. It's not a long game but that's ok. It was still really good. We as gamers ask that creators try new things and this was definitely new territory and I really enjoyed. It was money well spent.3 found this helpful
One of a kind.
This game is by definition unique. Cool story, interesting classic adventure game puzzling, and a twist. It's short (very short), sweet, and a pleasure to have experienced. I would gladly pick up a sequel.1 found this helpful
I can't decently recomend this. First it's just a prototype of a game. After the end of the first chapter which contains about one hour of game, and ends on a murder to solve, the game stops and tells you to ask the devs for a sequel. There's a couple hidden sequences but you have to play the game at certain hours (irl) to see them, which is completely dumb. Second, some of the controls in the gameplay sequences are really bad. The part when you have to look for a cat inside a house and you have to painstakingly go through each object in the house with just the left and right buttons is unacceptably tedious. Same thing for the shooting sequence at the end. And why are the loading times so long? As for the LCD design, I personally enjoyed it because I'm old enough to have played LCD games, and I can wallow in that nostalgia, but I suppose some zoomers will have no idea what's going on. I also like the lightness of the gameplay that the LCD concept could entails, and the idea of making a RPG/adventure game with just the simplistic controls of a game and watch, but I'm not sure that's what being reseearched by the devs here.
