This retro pixel art visual novel weaves arthouse film influences, postmodern storytelling, and atmospheric soundscapes into a 4+ hour meditation on reality and existence that feels like remembering games that never were.
You wake up looking at the cell and trying to remember a dream you have seen last night. There are only vague memories in your head - It was something connected with the cosmos and with the frightened astronaut's face. You have no time to think - you have to go to the work. There you create a perfect simulations of a human, called Molds.
So your journey through the parks, cemeteries, suburbs and dreams begins. Your adventure is in the City where the sun never sets.
It's a surreal mix of classical visual novels, odd choices, cyberpunk, mysticism and everyday life of a man lost in a rapidly changing reality.
You'll see the game, inspired by the numerous arthouse films, postmodern literature and dreams that come closer to dawn.

Cyber City 2157: The Visual Novel is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This e-book was slapped together with the godawfully bad RenPy Visual Novel/E-Book construction kit, so just like no professional writing took place here, no professional game development took place either, it's just a product of filling out templates in the construction kit. This Russian shovelware E-book has a crap sci-fi "cyberpunk because it's cool" theme to go along with the bad writing and bad translation. Also, in the manner of Russian shovelware pushers, a bunch of stock photos stolen and used without crediting the owner. Just no. I've played for a bit and i already found many problems such as, - Lack of keyboard shortcut. - No log of story/conversation. - As other reviewer said, there's fair amount of writing/translation issue. - The pictures seems to be stock photos while the soundtrack/music doesn't really fit the story. I've no idea whether the story would be better/more interesting latter. But the creator should just release the story as novel instead since it's clear there's no serious effort/budget to make proper VN.1 found this helpful
Bleugh. Very short. Atrocious English translation. Bad writing that prevents me from deciding whether its 'story' is open-ended or not finished.
