Lost In Space - The First Adventure

Got this as a b-day gift and was excited as I was a big fan of this show's reruns when I was a kid. The first part of the game starts off as a decent point and click adventure, but the second devolves into an incredibly repetitive puzzle game. The best way I can describe it is that is seems like busy work to feed the player to extend the game time. It also seems to lock you into the game at one point with no option to quit what you are doing. So if you have to leave for work or something, the only way out is to alt F4. The length of the game seems very short to me as well. Its a shame because it seemed to be starting off well and then just ends disappointing.

The game has a good story, and the puzzles were fun until you get to the three gate puzzles. Doing the step stones and wheels for a couple of times was OK, but then it just goes on and on and on... The game at this point just wastes my time (I don't consider this gameplay.) I would have rather had different puzzles instead of just expanding the same old thing. Once in a puzzle I did not find an exit option to go back to game or to the menu to quit or to adjust settings. There is a skip puzzle option, but that skips you past the puzzle. There's plenty room for improvement, and I hope the game offers a bigger variety of puzzles.

1. The controls are lacking. Controller? For a PC game? Maybe I'm just an old-timey loser, but I use a mouse and keyboard with my PC, a controller on my console. 2. Several places where the controls locked, especially during a puzzle, making it impossible to proceed. 3. Once started, puzzles don't seem to be able to be backed out of, only skipped - but thank GOD for that skipping feature. 4. The "puzzles" are nothing but trial and error code sequences with no hints or clues anywhere. 5. Several places where the camera angles were weird, making it difficult to see important, actionable items. I played the demo and really enjoyed it...but it was like that was the highlight reel of the entire game and all the parts that were left out could've been skipped.

Pretty good game and I got it at the FanExpo as a Steam Key from one of the animators. Pretty good game.

Let me first say that I'm a big fan of the old series Lost in Space and I cold not wait to play the game. My first impression the start of game play was WOW! I thought the developers really did a great job on the graphics and voice overs for the original characters. The beginning of the game was very fun at first and as it progressed further it got more challenging and more time consuming trying to solve the puzzles, which I usually love with a puzzle solving game BUT my impression of what I was purchasing was more adventure and less puzzle solving game. I was very disappointed with the lack of game play adventure and (way to much) having to solve everything before you could advance further in the game. Another disappointing factor in the game was that it had no real ending. It just left you with a cliff hanger for the next game. Now usually I am a BIG fan of these types of games...Really Love Them...BUT in this instance the game only lasted for me about 3 hours of game play until the ending occurred. Now come on people.....really! The game left me with my jaw hanging open and wanting more but not at the expanse of paying for another adventure that is going to last me jus…
