About Lunar maiden, River-side Angel, and the Godlike moment

"Lunar maiden, River-side Angel, and the Godlike moment"
An 18+ novel game set in modern Japan. The troubles of a sick and lonely woman,
It is recommended for those who want to take a peek at the divinity born after falling in love with a young man who understands for the first time in their lives.

"I will make you real"

Away from her sick father and her mother, who committed suicide to care for him,
A woman who lives alone on the outskirts of the city, relying on relatives and welfare assistance ---- Hidari Takanagi.
She aspires to be both an actor and a screenwriter, but because she wants a self-satisfied stage, no one finds her.
I was spending my days talking to another self in my brain.

Meanwhile, it was a series of bizarre murders that shook the world.
It mainly targeted elderly people and women living alone, and was thought to be the same criminal because of their cruel way of doing things.
News sites and SNS were busy with the topic every day.

One day, Hidari finds a young man sitting in a corner of the park on his way home from a convenience store late at night.
Despite his otherworldly beauty and friendliness, he quickly fell in love with Hidari, and Hidari also opened his heart to him.
The two become friends.

――The beautiful man never said a word to Hidari, but he was a serial killer.

In this work, there are expressions of violence in the text,
Visual representation of bloodshed, sexual intercourse between men and women,
Includes expressions such as the suicide of a relative of a character.

Hidari Takanagi ─ Left (CV: 今谷皆美)

A 20-year-old woman.
Because her sick dad attempted to suicide alongside her,
she now lives alone in a project with the help of relatives and a welfare institute.
She is a person who feels uncomfortable if she doesn't speak out immediately what she thinks.

She often thinks about various issues but lacks cooperation with others.
To things that she thinks cannot be compromised, she will never give in.
She is not a virgin. She also used to look for men everywhere on dating apps.
Essentially, she is a boring woman.
After others have a relationship with her, they will dump her.

From then until now, she has been a lonely and persecuted person.
She relies heavily on the first and only person who understands her, Migi.

Migi ─ Right (CV: 胸板鉄板ミート)

A handsome man who met Left in the park at night.
He said that he accidentally got lost while strolling.
After hearing Hidari's name, he gave the name Migi, which was obviously a pseudonym.
He didn't want to tell Hidari anything about himself.

He gives the impression that he is the kind of man who is very used to getting along with women.
Migi indeed has feelings for Hidari.
Even for Left's delusions of persecution and suspicion that are beyond the level of ordinary people,
he can also show understanding.

His favorite things are salmon onigiri and soda from convenience stores.
According to Migi himself, he also lost his parents for the same reason.

The translation is absolutely awful. Needs so much editing to make it palatable. It's a serious pain to try to read. And it's marked as an otome but clearly there's a heavy emphasis on fan-service for men, and objectifying the main character, so that's odd. It's clearly very far and away from Otome. By all means give the character a big chest, but the proportions are ridiculous, and so are the self-thoughts she has about her body that are so shallow and "male ideal of a girl-failure"-fetishized it's not funny.

oh. my god. this visual novel was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RIDE, albeit a shory one. I went into this not knowing anything about it besides from it being an otome (dating sim type)/eroge between a jirai girl and a serial killer guy, but it is so much more than that. actually I wouldn't even call it either an otome or an eroge. this is a full on utsuge (a game made to depress). the game is about a mentally ill (schizophrenic) girl, hidari, who lives on her own. she relies entirely upon government and familial support, and has no real hobbies or meaningful relationships. that is, until, one night during one of her episodes in which she became extremely disoriented and lost her way home, she met a strange man in a park, migi. she was compelled to explain her bizarre situation to the man, and unexpectedly, he excepted it and offered to help her (after stealing some of her food lol). they two of them quickly grow closer, both coming to the conclusion that they are the only ones who have ever, and perhaps ever could, understand eachother. their relationship is sweet, and though abnormal, I think it was good for the both of them. I will not go into any more detail of the plot for the sake of spoilers. …

Got to read this VN after "Princess Paradise" from the same developer, and actually I liked it even more. It is definitely heavier and darker, but GOD I LOVED IT. Even though I don't have the same mental illness as Hidari does, I felt like we are quite the same in our depressed worldview and thoughts towards other people. Also in how we see ourselves. In short, I kin her a lot. ALso I wish the VN could tell more about Migi but I get it that we shouldn't know a lot about him. Just the same as Hidari. Voice acting here is GORGEOUS, ans so is artstyle! It's beautiful. The only thing I didn't like in this VN is kind of subjective but I didn't understand a metaphor about keys...... I'm writing this review more as a message to the author rather than casual Steam review, and I wanna say huge THANK YOU for not giving up even thoug you thought nobody would like it, finishing this game and letting it see the world. My heart is in awe.

Hidari is me. I see myself in her. I love her VA. Story is also very good despite the rough translation. And Migi is... oh I love him he's my ideal type.

This game has a very poor translation, possibly machine translated, but I still highly recommend it. Hiding inside this indie otome is one of the most honest and realistic portrayal of psychosis and disability I've seen in fiction. Right has to navigate real experiences of being on disability in Japan. There are experiences in it I never expected to see in a visual novel.
