I was obsessed with this game through my high school years...but not for the reasons you may think. Seduce Me the Otome is a visual novel where, in my opinion, you get what you pay for and then some. Considering the game is (and always has been) free, that's meant to be as iffy as it sounds. The game has some weak points that can make or break the experience for you depending on what you are looking for. The art (ESPECIALLY the CGs in this game) are....amateurish, to put it kindly. The art isn't bad by any means; there's just quite a few anatomy issues in the CGs. I also have had moments playing with friends where they have point blank asked me, "Why did the love interest get UGLIER when we got the CG on screen? Aren't the CGs in these kinds of games meant to be where they look the most attractive???" To this day, I still have a good chuckle when I remember how flabbergasted I was discovering that one of the routes features an image with the love interest's ear just...drawn upside down? Seduce Me the Otome is a free visual novel that mixes romance, comedy and supernatural drama in a way that is a lot more ambitious than I expected. I play as Mika Anderson, a high school student who suddenly inherits her grandfather's huge estate after his death. Things get weird pretty quickly when I find five injured men inside the house and discover that they are actually incubi. I end up giving them somewhere to stay while slowly finding out why they came to the human world and who is hunting them. It is a silly setup, but I think the game does a decent job turning it into an actual story instead of relying entirely on the romance. The biggest strength for me is the cast. There are five main incubus characters, along with other romantic options, and each route gives me a different relationship to explore. I like that the characters are not completely interchangeable because they each have their own personalities, problems and reasons for being involved in the bigger conflict. My choices also affect where the story goes, so I have to pay attention to what Mika says and how I treat the characters if I want a particular ending. First time I saw this game was about a decade ago on a let's play by Gloom and Yammy. Crazy how time flies. Art is... um... let's just say not the best (especially the anatomy of the succubus omg) but I can ignore it. I liked how my choices actually mattered, and that each boy revealed different lore that was interesting. This is a great starter otome to not scare off the baby otome gamers lolll
