About Magneko
This is a cat who lives in a witch's house. Punished for some mistakes, the cat became a magical cat with magnetic powers. To become a normal cat, the cat must collect enough fish. You need to switch the cat's magnetic magic to move, use it to solve puzzles, and get through the level. The cat can't break the spell until you have collected enough dried fish. Let's use magnetic magic to help cats return to normal life~

Magneko is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This platformer has a cutesy cat theme and involves using a magnet gimmick to solve puzzles and collect fish. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's often nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number…2 found this helpful
Before I played Magneko, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
1 found this helpful
Another game I wish I could give a neutral rating to. It's not a bad game and is enjoyable for the most part, but it feels a little too rough and repetitive for me to actually want to keep playing. It's free, so there's no harm in giving it a try.
Very cute :3
I was so close to giving this short collectathon a thumbs up. Its cute, has charm, great animation sequences, and a great starter game for kids, or adults, like me, who are virtual hoarders and just love when a game has them collecting things. HOWEVER, the first fish in level 6 is unobtainable. Is it just me? Perhaps I missed something simple in this very linear game. I am convinced that that is not the case though. Considering I often got stuck in walls and floors and had to reboot the game, this game seems unpolished and incomplete. Due to its lack of popularity, I could not find any complete walkthroughs online. Let me know if you know how to obtain that elusive fish.
