About Masteroid
Warp into a busy galaxy with nothing but your wits and a tiny ship. Explore sectors, mine asteroids, take on faction missions, sell resources and upgrade your loadout. Earn the respect of a faction to unlock new weapons and ships. Attack other ships and steal their resources but beware: factions won't tolerate hostility for long without retaliation. Masteroid is an atmospheric, indie 2D space game with procedurally-generated sectors and casual, relaxed gameplay.
Key Features:
Key Features:
- Procedurally Generated Game World: Masteroid randomly generates up to six sectors for two unique factions at the start of every game so every new game is unique.
- Upgrade Your Ship: Every ship you see in space can be purchased and outfitted, provided you have the faction reputation!
- Upgrade Your Weapons: Ships have one or more turrets. Buy and equip weapons but make sure your ship has the energy to fire them!
- Relaxed Gameplay: No permadeath here. Death results in a loss of any cargo and a small cash penalty. You can play the game as passively or aggressively as you like.
- Faction Reputation: Sell mined resources, kill enemy ships or run missions to earn reputation points for a faction. Higher levels unlock better weapons and ships.

It's a kinda neat tech demo I guess, with ships flying all about, doing stuff on their own and hardly interacting with each other or you. Occasionally members of opposing factions will pick fights with each other, and their allies will stay out of it. Space stations are gigantic and nothing you do has consequences on the fate of the galaxy as a whole. The actual gameplay consists of either: picking fights with rocks that sit there; picking fights with ships that you have a small and kinda nice chase battle with, but it's pretty much the same each time; or picking fights with ships that are too large and blow you up. Repeat 30 times in order to make enough money to get a stronger weapon that behaves basically the same but does a bit more damage.1 found this helpful
Believe me, I would love to give this a thumbs up but I can't. It has the bare bones of a space sandbox but only the barest of bones. The only things you can do is mine / destroy other ships & take their cargo and get money painfully slowly or do missions (missions = mining 100+ ores for a station, destroying a ship or a few, or going from station to station) but that's not much faster either. There's not enough to justify really any price, It's a neat tech demo but it's got nothing at all going for it past that.1 found this helpful

Game is a prototype for a game. It looks good but there's almost no game here.
Very chill game, fun and the npcs make it feel very active and alive.
Game is very fun, simple. Needs Interface scaling, the user interface is so small I can barely see it at my screens current resolution.
