About Starminer

Feel your pulse quicken while piloting your 150,000t warship between asteroids in the vacuum of space in real time. All with fully simulated physics.

Balance material requirements with power, tonnage, and size while building your fleet to maximum efficiency, piece by piece, module by module. Will you create a large number of smaller, more nimble vessels or double down on a massive station packed with firepower?

Harvest and process valuable materials from asteroids for your profit margins, or use the bountiful resources for the maintenance and expansion of your own mercenary fleet while doing missions for the highest bidders in the sector.

Research for new modules and tools to keep expanding your fleet of ships and mining stations. Build link gates to gain access to new riches in new sectors of space.

The more you mine, the more you build and the greedier you get, the higher your heat signature becomes. Once it reaches critical levels, the aliens will detect you. Defend your fleet at all costs using defense systems and ships of your design.

Really wanted to like this game. Love the concept. The art style reminds me of Eve Online. I mean, I really, really like the concept. But the execution is terrible. The interface is non-intuitive. Mission objectives are vague to the point of being meaningless. A general lack of attention to the actual game play experience killed this game for me. I didn't get through the second tutorial, which references concepts like transferring power, construction cranes, and solar panels, that have no explanation and don't work even after trying what others have discovered through painful experimentation. If you're going to have a tutorial, it must be bulletproof. It must. This one is like being thrown into a 500-level college course while a freshman. I constantly wondered what context I had missed, and the answer was none. It doesn't exist. Might give it another chance after a dozen more patches or so. You should come back then too. Still looking for my perfect space simulation. Bitterly disappointed by this one.

Worst simulation of newtonian physics in a game ever.

Man this game is awesome. Just relaxing. I think all the bad reviews came from folks that were just expecting something different, and yes the tutorials could use more depth and polish, so yes you have to do them to really figure put how to do your basic activities and yes the tutorial will burn your refund window, but there are some good reviews out there that cover it way better than I could so I suggest reading some of the good ones and watching some gameplay footage on youtube. This is exactly the game I was looking for and I can play it while still interacting with family, watching TV, whatever. Its chill mode, put on some tunes and mine some rocks and just vibe.

Its fun but its a very slow easy going game that still got to be carful and smart. Planning building and working out what you need next and propare for is mosly what this game is about. Hope alot more will be added to the game to really bring this game out. But its a fun game even where it is now and for the price its great.

Excellent soundtrack, beautiful space environments around earth, saturn, and jupiter, fun asteroid mining (I don't actually have words for how satisfying it is to maneuver a giant ship within meters of an asteroid, they really nailed this), and a very flexible ship construction scheme. It's early access, and there are a few bugs of course, but I'm really looking forward to playing this game as it evolves. If you like the idea of building your own custom ships to mine asteroids, pick this up.

Good EA game. There are some frustrating bugs, but the content that's present is generally of high quality. However I would say that there is not yet enough content to be a game rather than a tech demo. The game mechanics, research tree, manufacturing options, automation, etc all need to be fleshed out at this time.
