Meta Star

Meta Star is an abandoned early access 2D top down shooter that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. It's an ugly unfinished, buggy 2D top down shooter with a sci-fi theme and the developers promised whoeever finished it first could decide what other content could be added. The joke is on us of course because the first part of the game is unfinished, and this is abandoned so there won't be any more content. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs. Like most GameMaker Studio construction kit "games", this features lazy 2D retro pixel "art", instead of professionally done, contemporary PC graphics. OK, there is SO MUCH WRONG WITH THIS GAME and i figured most of it within 10 minutes of playing it 1:The controls are relatively foreign, I expected to be able to click to select something, but I had to search my keyboard just to figure out that the arrow keys move the selection. Then i took a FEW MORE minuted to figure out that what SHOULD be a click of the mouse, you need to press SHIFT, of all the keys!! when has SHIFT ever been recognized as select! 2: the intro, There isn't one, no nothing but a couple of people talking and then you having to choose a dialog option 3: the darn dialogue option. When that popped up, I thought I'd need to press shift to select something, but NO THEY CHANGED IT FOR WHATEVER DUMB REASON, I took a few more minutes to search my keyboard AGAIN to find that it was Z,WHICH AGAIN HAS NOT REALLY EVER BEEN RECOGNIZED AS SELECT, yes in a few games, but if you have the shift button recognized as select, then DONT change it, seriously, You're not that dumb. 4: OK, so we got to the gameplay, and i had to figure out controls, BY MYSELF, There is no tutorial to the controls, which is dumb because we need help, everyone needs help in the beginning, It's like …
