This "game" is pretty much garbage. It's barebones, it's ugly as hell (I think PS2-era graphics but... not great). The UI looks like it was yoinked from some low-effort Xbox 360 game, it actually makes me both nostalgic and physically sick. Xbox360 games had this weird "milk" filter that I can't get over - this game has the same. The movement is so freaking snippy/janky, the animations are LOL, and the overworld looks like baby's first map project. Why is this on Steam? This should be on Itch.io or some other "aspiring dev" platform. Also, I found out this had a $ price. This. You serious? It's not even an H-game. Make in an H-game and you can charge $.
Miasma is the right word! "Miasma Caves" is a laughably bad 3D "voxel" based cave digging adventure/treasure hunt game with no real content (it's all procgen) and even less motivation to play it. What do you do in the game? Well, you're in a cave, and you run around and avoid slimes and search for treasures. I think it's hard to overstate just how BAD the game mechanics and polish in this game are... because it's voxel based you can "dig", but if you think you're getting even close to something like Red Factions awesome destructable levels, or Deep Rock Galactics frenetic co-op gameplay, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Digging is just a matter of the very poor quality character model waving her arms at the rocks and they disappear (and later a pickaxe). You can't make it up... but the funniest part is yet to come. Here's another case where Itch failed. They have like, ONE job... to act as containment to prevent poorly made amateur shovelware from leaking out onto platforms where gamers might see them and lose hope in the gaming industry. But here we are. The participation trophies and hi-5's from the group hug weren't enough and some of the amateur drivel they're…
its good a little confusing tho
Tl;dr - get the soundtrack, skip the game because it is tedious and unfairly punishing any attempts at casual gameplay. Treat it as a "YouTube game" to avoid the tedium and to skip to the segments actually want to see (read: not much of that - most of it is repetitive digging). If the game had a casual godmode / explorer mode, I might recommend it. Death is extremely punishing and comes easily in this game, forcing anti-fun, paranoid play styles. The soundtrack alone is a good enough reason to play this one. ...Too bad the gameplay design is horrendous. Get this - every time you die, the game deletes your dungeon. This means you can NEVER RECOVER YOUR STUFF. Imagine losing most of your active items in a grindy game - NOT FUN. The game seems to be full of designs that kill you fast. You are on a constant timer because the invisible gas (separate from the visible gas that - you guessed it - kills you fast). You would have to save-scum in this game because the auto-save thing saves every five seconds or so, so if you fall and die (level design has lots of deep pits), you cannot just exit the game and re-do the run because you will spawn five seconds before you died. The idea of…
