The game (demo) seemed interesting, so I purchased the DLC (full game) as I figured even though the monetization strategy is misleading, its not a deal breaker. I played all the available levels as well as the challenge mode, and what I got for my money was a bug ridden slop of a game. A good number of the relic type things you get don't actually work, all of the units are incredibly basic and uninspired in their effects, the 'hatch' function is completely broken and doesn't do anything, store items frequently vanished with no explanation never to be seen again in any of my runs, and there were multiple crashes. In the current state of the game, the cost, though very very affordable, is not worth what you get, and you'd be better off buying another game. 2/10, buggy and uninspired, more like a tech school project than a fleshed out game.3 found this helpful

Michi successfully delivers a charming, fast-paced deck-building fix by blending rogue-lite autobattler mechanics with a highly compact, casual-focused strategy environment. Drawing clear functional inspiration from established titles like Slay the Spire and Super Auto Pets, the experience drops players into a 20-floor tower structure where immediate tactical placement dictates success. Spending exactly 35 minutes inside the client is more than enough to assemble an initial Aibo creature roster, experiment with evolution merging loops, and engage in swift automated combat rounds without facing heavy onboarding friction. On the technical side, a deep dive into wider community logs reveals heavily divided user metrics due to underlying Web3 development pivots, though the standalone client execution remains perfectly stable and responsive. Players frequently praise the clean, minimalist 2D asset styling and relaxing audio design, while noting minor UI optimization quirks when navigating combat logs. It functions as a respectful, completely free-to-play micro-experience that avoids artificial progression blocks or bloated achievement grinds, delivering a satisfyingly optimized casual ru…1 found this helpful
"Michi" is not a complete game. It's an advertisement disguised as a full game when it isn't. You're expected to pay even more money through DLC just to unlock the actual content... yeah.. it's paywalled, NOT free. This is a shady way to market a for-profit product, and misleading gamers for profit is wrong. Michi is a badly made bug riddled mobile app in-exile, trying to be a ripoff of idler battle games with some card management elements ripped off from Slay the Spire (making this an incredible derivative and inferior Frankenstein's Monster of a game), but you only get the full experience if you pay cash for DLC that removes the paywall. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to shell out a whopping $5 USD to unlock content needed for the full game through DLC paywalls, and I don't recommend you do that either. This looks, feels and plays like a mobile app. I checked the app stores and couldn't find it there, maybe it was rejected, maybe the developer thought Steam Direct was easier than trying to self publish through Google and Apple. Either way, this might as well be a mobile app. That alone is enough to disqualify this from any recommendation. We do…
Michi
pure love
I always find these games (see: super auto pets) unappealing because the RNG for progressing with each round gets worse and worse as the rounds go on and the creature pools grow. This game is actually worse for it - 20 rounds is too many, and without much to do between rounds besides reroll for the creatures you have, I stopped upgrading my party at all after round ~12. Fortunately the first level, including the boss, was so easy there was no point anyway. It's hard to imagine paying for the DLC when there's so little gameplay here. Building up my team doesn't feel fun, it feels like a chore.
