About Million Depth

A Deep Descent in Search of You

Moma sets off on a journey in search of her friend, who she believes is in the million-floors-deep underground world of Million Depth. However, what awaits is a constantly changing world. The true story behind Million Depth differs between timelines, and Moma's fate too changes with the world around her.

Moma's past decisions have consequences that ripple into the future and even other timelines in unimaginable ways. She will have to piece together fragmented clues from her journey to solve the many mysteries she comes across.

Freeze Time to Strategize

Moma has a "biotope jammer", an incredible device that stops time around her as long as she also stays motionless. It's her key to survival in Million Depth, where all sorts of dangerous creatures lurk in the shadows. Even if she finds herself surrounded by enemies, she can stop them in their tracks to figure out a way to break through.

However, Moma's weapons and shields only have limited durability. During battle, they deteriorate and eventually break. Until they're repaired, Moma becomes completely defenseless, but this is when the biotope jammer comes in clutch. Freeze time, carefully plan your next move, and ensure Moma's survival.

Get Creative with Weapon Crafting

Moma can craft two pieces of equipment by combining different types of blocks.

Some blocks can be upgraded by being placed with others of the same type. Use them wisely to craft any weapon, from long-range guns to sturdy shields.

Ultimately, your creativity is what will give you the upper hand.

Barter with Shopkeepers

Throughout Moma's journey, she will encounter several shopkeepers offering crafting blocks, items, and relics that can enhance her abilities.

However, shops in Million Depth don't take traditional payment. Barter with the shopkeepers while keeping a keen eye on the value of your offer and the shopkeepers' mood to get the best deal possible. If it goes well, they might offer you valuable items at bargain prices, but if you get too greedy, you risk upsetting the shopkeeper, who might hike the prices in response.

What's more, the underground world is also home to a strange resource called Stockinum, the value of which fluctuates constantly...

Man i'm sad i didn't like this game... It seemed so cool from the trailers and starting out the story was a hook. I like a lot about it: the setting, plot and characters, but what i absolutely can't stomach is the combat and ui. Both are definitelly unique and try new things but man, i've never fumbled so many buttons navigating menus, perhaps i shouldn't have played it on a controller idk. The combat is just not fun cause the only interaction with the enemy so far is fly your "weapon shaped" drone into them. Building your own weapon is kinda fun, but it just doesn't change that fact. I'm sure it get more interesting at some point with new parts and interactions between them, but i can be bothered to reach that point.

The developer came up with a unique pair of game mechanics: 1) The combat takes place in an enclosed 2D arena, with time advancing only when the MC moves, so it's a quirky mix of turn-based (or strategic pause) with real time fighting. You have to carefully guide the fragile MC to avoid enemies and projectiles. 2) The main mode of attack is a flying weapon, controlled with the mouse, with the twist being that you can build/craft/shape it with individual blocks, which are equivalent to lego pieces. There is an expanding grid interface where you can arrange those blocks in any shape that you want, so it can be a pick-axe, a sword, a lance, etc. But there are even more gimmicks with certain blueprints and combinations of blocks that have different benefits. These 2 features for quite the unique experience, even if it seems they don't go deeper than surface level interactions (pun intended). There would be much potential to be explored with those mechanics if a sequel is ever considered, because the framework here is solid.

Very fun and charming indie game. Weapon crafting system and combat are both interesting. Writing is hit or miss but story beats are good IMO. Strong rec if you enjoy the demo. My only complaint is that unlock speed for new blocks and blueprints is a bit slow, but that's fairly minor

I think this game is def one of the better niche indie games I've picked up. The mechanics were really unique and the weapon customization in particular was pretty engaging. Eventually, I did kind of figure out how to game it and my builds mostly turned into abusing that one buff for dual swords attached to a hilt, but there's still room for creativity (even if I chose not to be creative), especially early into your runs. Plus later on they just keep adding more parts to mess around with (I thought I had everything figured out and then they added jets that propel your weapon and a debuff that doubles your damage on enemies for a short time). The difficulty in this game is a bit weirdly paced but I'm glad it got harder later on. I highly encourage you to at least play on the roguelike difficulty if not try to clear the extra difficulty settings since it forces you to think about the mechanics more. Also, the story is simple but with some touching moments, the music is solid, and the art is excellent. Very good ~20 hour experience for me. Also I love the dog <3 P.S. If you want to know how to break the game: [spoiler]You can exit to main menu mid-battle and just restart to mak…

Very unique gameplay loop, even if I think it can become a bit repetitive towards the end. However the story, that clearly wears its Nier and Steins;Gate inspirations at heart, was very engaging and intriguing and it got me to go all the way to the end. The music is also very nice. Definitely worth the price

A pretty unique game where you "build your weapon", and go down layer by layer... Not going to lie, I din't quite like gameplay itself, as it was just ramming the weapon into the enemies, while avoiding their own attacks, shmup-ish, by that description, but slowed down to like 15% "regular" speed. If it expanded on later runs, I do not know, but I'm not willing to go that far. Aside from the gameplay, I did like the setting and plot, involving timelines, and the spritework's good enough. I do wish I'd liked the gameplay tiself, but it is "not liked enough" for me to actually see where the plot lead. [since I do not think the product is bad in itself and more of a personal preference, I will thumbs up.]
